Yeah, not like it's a huge amount of the game and I usually play every character through the main game at least once before I decide on what I'm going to focus on post game, but still whatever I play through during the beta I'll have to redo and I stopped playing in the previous beta well before the level cap to maximize the amount of new I get on launch.

with no new releases that interest me right now, I'm replaying Horizon Zero Dawn (just how brain works: I want to play the Forbidden West DLC --> might as well replay Forbidden West --> might as well replay Zero Dawn first) and I'm having a blast. Just one of those games I'd love to erase from my memory and discover for the first time again ... uncovering the story was just such a great experience.
Only a few days remain until the big update for Crusader Kings 3. At this point, Crusader Kings 3 is realistically my most favorite video game of all time. I've never played a game as much as I have this one, not even close.
How approachable is it?
I had a friend come over and show me CK2. I was into it for a bit after he showed me, and it was awesome. I put it down for a year, tried to pick it back up, and had no frigging clue what I was doing again, and gave up. Awesome game, just so much to it.
It's nice for once to have some solid late spring/summer releases with the new Zelda, Jedi Survivor, and Diablo 4.
The timing of video game releases in the spring/fall has always bugged me a bit, only cause I don't love playing video games (or watching movies, or TV, etc) when it's light out. And what's stranger is that I'm not even an outdoorsy person. I tend to save them up for winter when it's dark at 3:45pm

I did this exact same thing, but after finishing Zero Dawn and diving into Forbidden West, I made it about an hour before I realized that I was sick of the game's formula and I haven't touched it in months. Kinda wish I had just read a recap of Zero Dawn on Youtube

Way more approachable than CK2. Much better UI and info for learning how and what to do.

Paradox games are great.
My 9 year old nephew somehow mastered Hearts of Iron IV, Crusader Kings, and Europa Universalis. I thought I understood these games, be he schooled me in HOIV.
I'm pretty sure he learned from watching YouTubers. Suddenly, he's the best in his class at geography and history. It's not completely useless.

I got my 9YO kid into the IOS game, Marvel Snap, which seems like a scaled down Hearthstone. He can now multiply/divide/understand negative numbers like nobody's business LOL.
We recently started playing Marvel's Midnight Sons, which is basically XCOM with Marvel characters. This one seemed to go under the radar but it's a blast to play if you're into that sort of thing.

Newer paradox games are a lot simpler than the old ones. Sadly for games like Victoria III it means it's way too dumbed down to the point of boring with many of the actual systems behind the scenes. But CK3 strikes a decent balance

Cool, Steam is making timed trials for games built right into Steam so you don't have to buy then return. Dead Space is apparently first, but hopefully it comes to lots of games.

It is, I just played it. You get 90 minutes and is similar to console trials where once you get down to 30 minutes left it will warn you and then again at 15 and 5 minutes left. The game page also tells you how much time you have left.
