Well I think the Canes are the weakest opponent of the three compared to Boston and Toronto. Just because they are missing three top six wingers, they don't pose nearly as much threat offensively as those other two. They are better defensively than Toronto (don't think they are better than Boston) but they haven't seen a physical team like the Panthers yet. Should be fun!

To me, their defensive game, and especially how they shut down rush and transition chances then move to counter attack, could be an Achilles heel for the Panthers.

Or perhaps I should just shut up now and hope for the best. Either way.

Yeah but this is the new Panthers, they don't rely on the transition game. They are in your face, coming hard at you all the time - team. We'll see, I like their chances!

Nevada and Las Vegas are very much considered the American southwest. It doesn't really matter overall. Point is that the traditional hockey markets aren't really in this now.

I guess. “Southern” has a very distinct meaning here. Dallas people are fairly evenly split about identifying as Southern, Western, or just Texan.

If they could, the Leafs would probably move on from Tavares, but with one more year, I'm sure he'll be back. So that leaves one of Marner or Nylander out. Do they sell high on Nylander who seemed to do alright towards the end? Do they sell low on Marner? They have some tough calls to make. At this time I think they'll make some changes to the supporting cast and wind it back again with the core one last time. Again, on the 4th line they had a grinder to create chaos down low, in Simmonds, but they didn't use him and went for skill instead. I think they were wrong on that last game to make that decision. Simmonds was useless regular reason but is exactly what they needed against Florida specifically.

TBL/FLA/DAL/ARI are the low 4. CAR is the next lowest in the East. LA/ANA are the only other 2 lower than VGK.
