Well I returned the 14 stolen election signs. In my conversation with the volunteer it turns out it's a big problem for anyone not Jason Nixon

Getting my OHIP card in proper, sturdy plastic was like a god-send when it arrived. Can't believe it's still paper in Alberta. Did anyone else laminate their card? I did it years ago and not sure how it would have survived if I didn't.

Your choice of lime green text on a white BG instead of just green or sea green is not great but other than that, all good.

yeah its not a decision I've had to ponder for quite a while but I think rarely would someone factor residency pay into their choice of training location (not that money doesn't matter of course especially for those with young families and with huge debts ) but really the difference in pay between provinces (when factored into the bigger picture of cost of living in said provinces etc) seemed marginal enough that you were mostly likely to choose based on - quality of program (and of course match of specialty), where you want to live for 2-5 years , and where you might want to live 'forever' (recognizing that some people intentionally pick somewhere a bit different for residency to experience something new, but many/most realize that once life gets settled if you are happy where you are- personally or professionally- its an easy choice to stay)
again I'm meaning to agree with you, not disagree with. Alberta Family med fared horribly in the match- despite the fact that pay for residency is 'fine' when compared across the country-that's not the reason Alberta is being avoided- would be an easier fix if it was

Yeah, at one point I'd heard you weren't supposed to laminate them, but after my original disintegrated I did some research and found that wasn't true so I laminated my replacement.

I had heard that, but don't know how true it was. I had a procedure at the High River hospital years ago, and they made me a plastic card that had my healthcare number on it. I thought it was great, and I'd just use that one instead of the "real" one. Of course...the first time I tried, I was told I couldn't use it and had to have that paper card. It's just so non-sensical.

I have a photo of mine on my phone and I’ve never had any issues using that.

Same, picture on my phone works anywhere I've tried it. But I do recall years ago getting that plastic card from this hospital (Foothills in this case) but IIRC that was specifically for your record at that hospital (or maybe any Calgary hospital), it was not a replacement for your AHC card.
That said, why do we even need a physical card (or need to show one at least). Anywhere you go in Alberta for health services should be able to pull your records based on ID you show. If we can do it for vehicle registration then we can do it for healthcare cards.

Yeah, mine wasn’t a replacement either and probably the same as yours. I just thought because it had the same information anyway, that I’d rather carry that one.

Provincial health care cards are also good out of province, so that might be a consideration?

Catholic school board sending around a voting guide that tells you to vote based on prayer and the teachings of the church, and right up at the top of their list of key issues is party positions on abortion and MAID (i.e. mainly federal issues).

Was it actually sent out through the school board? Please explain.
That Must be some sort of violation of policy? I'm offended as #### if this is true.

Yep sure was, a link to a simplified pdf of that link was included in the district update. It was one of about 10 things in the email from wildfires to school fees.
