Tangentially related point -- Lizette's sign game is really strong if you drive north up 14th Street. IDK if there is polling in that riding and I'm not in it so don't have a good sense, but it's really stark compared to Jeremy Nixon who has one or two and mostly on public property. Lizette on the other hand has row upon row of signs, it's really impressive.

Is there a province that has a healthcare system that is running great post covid?
Generally all provinces were begging for more health care funding, I am just wondering if someone found some secret recipe yet. It'd be nice to point to one we can emulate.
Likely the best kick the can down the road method is to patch the holes the best you can, fast track and hire nurses who moved here from other countries and let it ride till it breaks.

For sure, she was just about to start Q&A, where we usually get the real gems. We got robbed on this one.
Seriously though, I agree. No matter how much I want to put a boot to a UCP sign as I ride by, I won't.
Well the other thing is, it gives license to some TBA people to interrupt an NDP presser and be like “well, what good for the goose is good for the gander” or whatever. Just let the politicians make their announcements and leave it at that.

Didn't that weird Bexte creep do that at a Notley presser a couple weeks ago?

I hope someone can attend the TBA meeting tonight in Spruce Cliff and report back on the fun entertainment that it will inevitably be. I'm assuming Yoho will for sure be there, and will provide hilarious commentary. Anybody else?

So, does a voter believe what they say or what they write? All parties can be somewhat inconsistent in this regard. The UCP does appear to be the most inconsistent. The older I get, the more cynical I get towards politics and politicians.

Perhaps there will still be a public system you can access as we do now but it will be a shell of what it has been after they privatize and a mass exodus of health professionals occurs.
I was just coming here to say this too.
Nobody will “have to” pay but the options will be there
Vs
Nobody will ever pay
Very different meanings

Also, THIS is what they were announcing today? Hey we might take away your pensions but at least seniors get a coupon for discounted road tests, drivers licenses and camp sites. Lololololol absurd. Big ideas over in the UCP camp. Real big.
I just found 14 dumped campaign signs in Sundre for Tim Haven. I do not like the man or his political views, but I can't stand the cheating/suppression. I gathered them all and called it in, somebody will come Monday to collect them.

The misinformation about them “taking away your pensions” really needs to stop. There are a million reasons to attack the UCP and Smith. You could even argue that you don’t like the move to an APP from CPP for legitimate reasons. But they’re not taking away your pension, full stop. It’s irresponsible to run around and fan the flames of this rhetoric. I saw an NDP ad to this effect as well, and it’s just off-putting.

it's entirely accurate. The UCP wants to take away our CPP and move it the an APP. This might be shocking to you, but some people don't trust the APP, and trust the UCP even less.
What is your problem with the ad? What is the misinformation?

Sure, I'll admit it's a bit charged and hyperbolic.
I'm sure you'll also condemn these just from today, right?
They didn't doxx Smith, it was an event the UCP had publicly posted themselves, and the tweet from the NDP had less information on the location than the UCP themselves provided, and the tweet is edited to only include a portion of what they said.
Yes, I'll admit my language in a political thread posting in a hockey forum was a bit hyperbolic but compared to what the UCP gaslight us with every single day? Meh.

No, it was a TV as with a roulette wheel and that kind of implication. It’s disingenuous. Surely someone in the NDP has some expertise and can tell the others that this isn’t what’s happening?
