Oilers have been just as bad, in their losses.
Strange playoffs. I always thought if you didn't have a goalie playing well, your chances were doomed. Going by that, only Carolina and maybe Florida are getting the goaltending to consider them able to win the cup.
But this year is so weird, so who knows?

People need to stop being so damn sensitive. I don’t like Draisaitl. He’s a dirty POS. If he gets hurt from a dirty slash, I won’t lose a wink of sleep.
You act like I’m wishing death upon the guy.

Second round has kind of been a gong show so far.
Weird year.

This is a year when Vaslievsky, Shesterkin, Ullmark, Oettinger and Hellebuyck all were pretty ordinary in the POs. It definitely affected their teams.

Yeah
For what I thought would be a really great second round, there have been a lot of blow-out games so far except for the series that was almost a sweep

My prediction is that Pietrangelo gets 2 games while Kane and Nurse get a combined 0 games.

Kane pulled a gun on his ex wife*, is a dead beat Dad gambling addict*, and had to pay out settlements to some lady cuz he allegedly tuned her up. He ain't getting a single game suspension, I agree.

No, if you've been paying attention over the years, we consistently push back on posters who want players to get hurt on purpose. These guys put their bodies on the line, no matter what the team, and injuries happen - no reason to ever wish injury on any professional athlete. Period.
It's a big difference to say "Couldn't happen to a nicer guy" when Corey Perry gets hammered while playing, compared to "I wish someone would break Corey Perry's ankle."
There's a difference, and hopefully it's obvious.

My suspicion is that chop looked a lot worse than it was, kind of like when Noodles whacked some Red Wing years ago. Despite Draisaitl being shot from the rafters. But it was exposed and obvious, so not a smart move.
If I'm Vegas I have a press conference to say "OK" to the punishment when it comes down and have videos of the dirty plays by Draisaitl, Kane, McDavid and Nurse thus far playing on a loop behind them, without any comment.

I don't really blame Pietrangelo for being frustrated. Game is being managed.

In the NFL you can't hit a player in the head, you can barely touch a QB. NBA if you stick your foot under a jump shooter you get a flagrant foul and potentially suspended.
In the NHL, especially in the playoffs, you can cross check guys in the back over and over again and unless it's deemed too viscous you get away with. This allows teams to target guys like Stone when he has a back injury.
Until you clean it up, people are going to snap, get suspended, fighting will remain in hockey and series can get ruined by 1 dumb decision due to clear frustration by AP.

Best case scenario if AP gets suspended is it's 1 game but the Knights present their case of the Oilers targeting Stone and getting away with it leading to AP's poor decision to target Leon's hands. My guess AP thinks hey I break his finger maybe that slows him down a bit, Oilers ain't winning the cup if Leon isn't putting pucks in the net at the same rate he has been.

Exactly, if they call that clear hit from behind from Kane on Pietrangelo we aren't even having this discussion. It's the leagues own fault for calling ticky-tac stuff and letting dangerous stuff go.

I love big open ice hits, fights too. I'm glad open ice hits to the head are gone and would be ok with fights being gone too even though they do add entertainment to the game.
What entertainment value does cross checking guys in the corners, on the ice even bring? Call it and it will stop as most of the time it's completely unnecessary to the battle for the puck anyways.
I have young kids, they watch the playoffs usually with me. They always say that is a crosscheck and I try to explain well no it isn't. They literally look at me and don't understand how I can say it isn't. Monahan comes to mind as guy that would take advantage of cross checking guys in the corners and get away with it. It makes no sense why it is needed in the game.

Ya, I agree. I think this is just the "well we gave Nurse a game so Pietrangelo gets more."
