Friedman has alluded to this as well. It was more players than just stetcher who had an issue with the pouters.

There was no pouting outside Kadri.
But keep pushing that agenda

I never once said anyone was pouting. Giving half-assed efforts or playing like crap isn't the same as pouting.

The point of that whole comparison was that Hubredeau wasn't a 55 point player or a 115 point player but people use the 115 point season when criticizing Sutter because it looks worse to frame Hubredeau as a 115 point player rather than the more appropriate 90 point player.
I don't see how it is negative (or positive) to point out that both seasons are outliers.

You said this which is a bad is either a biased interpretation of the stats or just a mistake that you aren’t willing to own
“ And 92, 92, 91 aren't close to 115 so no he is as much a 55 point player as he is a 115 point player.”

Its neither a mistake or a biased interpretation and not really sure why it is such a contentious issue, both seasons are outliers, he is unlikely (outside of the end of his career) to come close to either point total.
Not sure what the big deal is with what I said, but probably best to just drop it at this point as it seems to be going nowhere.

His high is closer to his normal production than his low is
That’s the point.
But others have pointed it out to you and you don’t seem to have any sincere interest in why folks have objected to your posts

No I had an interest and never disagreed that his production was closer to 115 than 55. If that is the big objection people have then ok I guess.

I’m not privy to who is saying what amongst the players. Judging from what we heard, it sure sounds like a few players were complaining.
As for poor efforts, that’s also hard to say. From the beginning of the season, Kadri’s style kind of rubbed me the wrong way. His effort level was inconsistent depending on whether he has the puck and what his role was on the forecheck. As for other examples of poor efforts, I’d argue that more than half of “effort” is made up of what you do between games and how mentally focused you are during games. My feeling is lots of players have room to improve there.

IIRC Walnuts admitted Kadri before. But it seems like Backlund was a complainer and his effort was always there. Huberdeau was obviously not on the same page as Sutter, but he worked. If anyone else on the top six was affected it seemed like Lindholm to me, but I chalked it down to missing his ex-linemates.

He also had a pregnant wife and after everything that went on during the previous pregnancies you can understand why he may have looked distracted.
I just don't think people complained or mailed in the effort. If that was the case we wouldn't have executed the game plan the way we did
The in between stuff I don't know but I think the team was professional.
Yeah Kadri quitting down the stretch wasn't a good look. His effort hindered the team because it was to the benefit of himself only.

Yup.
Could be the ideal situation for a 360 review next year after "we're surprised" how bad we do.
How I'd mix up a disaster:
1. Rookie GM
2. Budget hire coach as we're paying the old one still
3. Inmates running the asylum - cozy players first environment with no accountability
Just need the goaltending we got this year and we're looking at a bottom 5 team.

You know, the team isn’t only around each other on the ice. I’m sure the pouting and complaining easily could’ve been an off ice dynamic.

That's pretty much what I think of when people talk about players pouting. It's not an on ice thing as it is an off ice thing. I don't know if Huberdeau was one of those players, but the Tweet from his agent seems to suggest that.

Which Friedman column was this? I would like to read what he said.

Yep a whole lot going on that we aren't privy to. Guys skating hard during the game is nice for sure. But that's just a part of what a professional needs to do in order to be successful.
