Problem with this is most players can't coach. They may think they know best when it comes to tactics and player usage, but they most likely don't. Not sure you can really win with guys like that.

I'd rather build a team with zero NMCs and just trade problem players.

Quality guys like GG and MT played hard and then left. Guys that quit on the team are not guys you want. If there is an attitude problem get rid of them.

Big pass. The guy never lasts long anywhere, even if he gets good results for one of those years.

Is he the same guy that the Panthers left stranded outside of arena after game when they fired him?

I just see no point of firing Sutter then going right back a coach that it seems like he doesn’t get along well with others.

FLA hold our beer. We could leave him on the side of the road on Deerfoot near the airport, in the middle of winter.

This gets tons of wins but clearly has a very short shelf life.

Not what we need right now.

The players that didn’t like Sutter wouldn’t like this guy either.

So I’m all for bringing him in.

I think the key is to have a bunch of Wranglers graduate with Love if they hire him. That plus the guys that have already graduated, should ensure a good culture. Non of this I scored 115 points once and I know best nonsense.

There will be lots of holes on the Flames roster next year, notwithstanding any trades.

If we were looking to get that push over the top to win a Cup he'd be an option, but he's just another Sutter. Shouty, angry, ornery coaching that gets immediate results and then flames out.

We're nowhere near contending for a Cup so it would be ridiculous to bring that style of coach in now.

He wouldnt get one good season out of this team. It would feel like Sutter never left I highly doubt there would be a positive bump at all.

How anyone would suggest Gerard Gallant is crazy. As other have pointed out he's burned bridges with every team it seems. Each one has gone down in flames with him. The reputation of the club banks on this next hire. I'd just hire a solid coach who can teach, but has to be a respectable person at his core. The future respectability of the club and the ability to sign FA's waaaay down the road, bank on the ability of this next coach to make it a place players want to play. Having an ass at the helm will just push guys further away.
