346 in 286 is a 99 point pace, over 3 seasons.
But yeah, one bad year and he's a 55 point player

Probably not. While not willing to commit directly, the NDP would be stupid to deny the opportunity for work to the unions that support it.
They (Notley) just want to ensure there isn't any funny business in the contracts, the way the UCP/Tories usually do business.

That or trolling, which I assume at this point to be the latter. Nice to see people coming out of their closet though.

Putting up numbers like that doesn't just happen. And dismissing them, simply because he just had a bad season, is what is disingenuous here.

Lol. It was definitely the former since I was just scrolling past your names and they start with the same letter and are close to the same length.
But if this suddenly a personal thing to you and not just a no-stakes conversation about hockey you can enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Don’t get too scared of those closets!

Well that’s a 99 point average per 82 games played before his 115 point breakout season… I’d say he’s much much closer to the 115 point player than he is to the 55 point player this past season while you’re suggesting it’s somewhat of a toss up.
Edit - maybe I read that wrong at the 346 in 248 includes the 115 season but the point remains the same; Huberdeau is a lot closer to being a 115 pt than he is to being a 55 pt player, he hasn’t even started his new contract yet lol. Did the forum not learn their lesson from Johnny?? Remember when everyone wanted to see him traded for Konecny and then he put up 115 points? Gotta give Huby at least another season if not 2 before we start talking in absolutes.

An interesting thought I had today, say we trade one of Backlund or Lindholm at the draft, then trade one of our UFA D's in the summer (Hanifin/Tanev...Kylington is basically untradable right now). Then largely the rest of the roster comes back and underachieves again missing the playoffs...Does Sutter return for his final contract year?

Stranger things have happened...I mean we acquired Jokinen/McAmmond/Lundmark/Sutter/Cammalleri/Tanguay/Vernon/Conroy/Cujo(haha) twice???? I think there is a potential for a thrice opportunity id say I mean hes getting paid regardless.

I feel bad for Darryl (not TOO bad, mind you, with $8M in his pocket)...for the legacy and the hope that many of us had with the "unfinished business" comment. Being always a "glass half-full" person and having worked with many staff over the years I always seem to hope that a person and their position is savable, remediable and ultimately successful. And indeed, in my experience, some have been.
As a now-mostly-retired person I have returned TWICE to my last organization to rescue them from people hired to replace me that proved to be...not good. One much younger, one just somewhat younger. I guess there's a piece of me that hoped DS would be that "rescuer" for the Flames and there IS another part of me that would have hoped that another chance would have been provided to him to correct his attitude and manner...but maybe it had just gone too sour everywhere.
There is yet another piece of me that also feels bad for the players, because I'm going to bet on one thing: if they don't perform next year - and perform WAY above expectations - fans both on CP and casual fans, and the media in Calgary are going to be ALL over them like a fly on poop. With good reason.
Popcorn in hand, I await a Stanley Cup to cheer about.

Well if CP had a say, Bennett would be Captain, Asst coach, GM and mascot....

Why would he return to a team who fired him twice? He's being 8 million to go away I'm sure Darryl is fine.

Yes so even just using his point average per game not what he actually produced he still doesn't average out to be the 115 point player. People use that number when criticizing Sutter because it sounds better not because it represents what we should expect from Hubredeau going forward.I don't expect him to get 55 points next season either but if the standard is an outlier season when people use 115 to make their point than why not use 55?
I think even expecting 99 points or close to it is hopeful for a player that is 28 and only once score above 99 points and only once got close to it.
