That 2/3 schedule where the top team is at a disadvantage is one of the dumbest things I think I’ve seen.
Wonder if the seven game series are 1 game at home and 6 on the road for the higher ranked team.

So nice to be in the right side of one-goal games!! I can’t wait for the games next week at home. I hope the Dome gets packed. We’ll need the energy to get the boys going against a very good Firebirds team!!

And the top team only gets two games at home because they chose not to start the series on the road.....

Just give the higher ranked team three straight at home. If it's a sweep so be it. Make the lower team fight for home games.

Looking at the other series: Both the Eastern Conference (Toronto-Rochester and Hershey-Hartford) series are within the driving limit, so they're 2-2-1. The Central Division series is Texas vs. Milwaukee. The Stars have chosen to start on the road and retain home ice for Game 5.

Agreed. And one could argue that the Stars are able to make that decision because the Stars also have their parent club (and ownership group) still in the NHL playoffs and bringing in revenue. The Wranglers parent club (and ownership group) on the other hand...I just can't help but think the obvious, and that is that revenue is driving this decision regardless of the team's road record, etc. all season.
At the end of the day, we just have to get out and win the first two games. Coachella Valley only finished 3 points behind us in the standings and this is going to be a very tough series. Here's hoping the Stars/Kraken series goes the desitance and the Kraken aren't able to send any additional eligible players (whoever they may be) down to the farm while this series is on.

It's also the Wranglers broadcast. It's supposed to lean toward Calgary.
And as someone in the Abbotsford Centre for both games, the vantage point of the Calgary broadcast booth might as well have been on the moon. They couldn't see or hear anything because the PA was drowned out. They don't have a producer or anyone talking in their ear. It's them and a soundboard. They were kind enough to give us a tour after the game and stayed around to speak with many Wranglers fans after the Game 4 win.
Brad Pascall was awesome with us too.
This isn't the NHL. As you can tell with the AHL, the same luxuries aren't there -- from officiating to broadcast amenities to scheduling.
Calgary has a great team and an awesome coach. Embrace the AHL for what it is (not directed at OP).

I think all series in hockey should be a best of 5, NHL playoffs are way too long. Maybe keep the final at seven games but as it is it just goes on and on, I’m already bored.

Tye Kartye, one of the Firebirds best players, was called up for the Kraken's run. Lets hope that series goes 7 or the Kraken win outright so their team is hurt by call ups.
