I wonder if Elliotte's tone changes if it's 97 being targeted? Didn't he petition the league last year to call more penalties on players battling against Mcdavid because he wasn't being allowed to fully show his talent? What if instead of hooks and other infrsctions, opponents were cross checking at a injured back of Mcdavid?
He'd probably make the same statement about Mcdavid that he made about Stone and being totally okay with Mcdavid being targeted...

When Eakins mentioned that he got that stat about 80% of play being on the boards passed to him by someone else in the league, my immediate thought was "I bet it was Sutter". Wasn't Sutter mentoring him for a while?

Realistically though, McDavid wouldn't be playing with a bad back. He'd be out shopping with his GF instead.

It tops out around 90mph too. It reminds me of when everyone thought Phanuef had a rocket. Then he goes to the All-Star game and hit 88mph muffins. They're just wild clappers resembling a hard shot.
It's just a sickening Rogers fanboy thing. Along with the German Gretzky, Nuge, and other pet names they love to throw out to embarrass themselves on tv.
