I don't think the contact causes him to launch though, he was already launching up on his own.
Should have been 2 minutes for charging and was a bit reckless by Bennett. Really nothing more and nothing to be upset about either way.

He left his feet, for one thing. And even though he led with the shoulder, the elbow/arm continued through and high.
No surprise that got called, and not much to complain about, IMO.

Yeah, and ref got it wrong. At least on the elbowing call. I think calling that charging is fine, though it's not "one of the most obvious charges I've ever seen" or anything remotely close to it.

Doesn't a charging call require an X number of strides before the hit? Bennett took exactly 0 strides before making contact. You can literally see him gliding the last 5 feet before the hit (farther, if you don't count the one crossover).
Elbow down, led with the shoulder and impact of the hit spun him around and caused him to leave his feet. Shouldn't have even been a penalty.

Not necessarily, you can also charge "as a result of distance traveled" - e.g. Scheifele on Evans. It's hard to tell in this case because Bennett came from off screen on the angle I saw but he was moving pretty quick and I wouldn't be surprised if he was bee-lining into the hit from outside the blue line.
Obviously you can also get a charge for jumping into a hit though there wasn't much of a jump there, if any.

Similar to the Eberle hit on Cogliano, no?

Bennett's hit was clean in my opinion, and I prefer that to the one Trouba did on Meier.

Like the Oilers, it's always a great morning following the eve of a Maple Leafs loss.
Coffee tastes extra good today.
Florida Panthers: doing God's work.

I think Bennett's hit is clearly a penalty and the Trouba hit was not.

I prefer the Gulf side of Florida, but if the Atlantic side of Florida beats the Leafs, they'll go up a bunch of notches in my book.
Likewise, if Vegas beats the Oil, I'll go make some non-taxable donations to my favorite Casinos.

I agree, but I think the issue is with the rule itself. Trouba looks for players who are in vulnerable positions and hits to hurt them, but the hit itself is within the rules. I think that has to change, similar to how they implemented the blindside rule a few years back.
I think there are a lot of players that could do what Trouba does more often, but they simply don't because they know it is dangerous and unnecessary. Trouba shows a disregard for any of that.
As for the Bennett, I'm fine with that being a minor penalty, but I don't think it was as bad.

If it was called a charge, fine but still I really would prefer them to let guys play in the playoffs. Huge, clean hits are great for the game.
The problem is when you have such a lopsided penalty ratio but only give out marginal calls like this hit and the second one that was just a phantom call on one team. And no marginal calls going the other way. It felt like the refs didn't want them to play as hard as they played in the Boston series which was much more physical.

Too bad he didn't perform like that when he was a Flame.

But my point was that he was clearly dealing with injures in recent playoffs, and that playoffs when he was still super young and developing shouldn't be held against him as a whole generalization of his playoff abilities.
And yet that's what many fans including yourself have done.

This came up on my feed this morning:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1653761657452253184
First period of game 1. End of the 1st period, Flames up 11-2 in shots, Tkachuk with a wicked hit on Klingberg. But then he decides he wants to fight someone too -- ends up injuring his hand wrestling with Michael Raffl (?) who didn't even want to fight.
If he stops that nonsense then he's someone who should excel in the playoffs because he's got good hands around the net and in the corners and can score from those hard areas of the ice. We're seeing it now.

I generally agree with you, but if Rafl didn't want to fight him, then why did he charge after him and knock him down behind the play and then start pushing him around when he got up? My read on that play was Rafl did want to fight him, but there was no reason for Chucky to oblige.
