Yep, he was right. When the trade happened, I was a little surprised at how many people thought Zito was fleeced. I always thought it was a better deal for the Panthers than the Flames.

The Tkachuk trade was good for the Flames given the circumstances. The trade was obviously great for the Panthers.
It's really only the Bennett trade that was terrible.

I think the consensus was in the long run, the Panthers would have the advantage due to the age of Chucky. If Huberdeau had gotten 80 points at least, combined with 40pts from Weeger(while playing a solid defensive game), it would have been a wash, even with Tkachuks’ season.
We know how the year played out, which is why now, it’s a fleecing. Huby can try to balance it out IF he gets back to carrying a line and gets a minimum 80 points a year. I have no worries with Weeger being solid.
I haven’t seen enough of Schwindt, but from what I heard, it wasn’t the greatest season for him either.
