He's right, though, that (unlike pregnant parking and handicapped) those spots are reserved for people who cannot park anywhere else to pick up their groceries. If those spots are filled, they can't just find another spot.
You're actually doing something worse by parking in one of those spots than a handicapped spot in certain situations.
Regardless though, the solution is just to lose some weight so that walking an extra 10m to the store isn't so difficult and you can avoid being verbally undressed by a stranger in front of your kid. Think of how much trouble you could save yourself by parking like a normal person.

If there are a dozen empty handicapped spots, do you justify parking in those too? Or double-park because there are lots of spaces?

I do kinda miss the days when we could call people fat, use the "r-word" ( ) and just generally be bigger jackasses. Not talking about CP, but just the world in general. Whenever I hear somebody use the r-word in public I want to fist bump them just for keeping it real.

No for a variety of reasons. 1) handicap people suffer from mobility issues and I dont want to risk having a person in a wheelchair not having access 2) its actually something you would get a ticket for; its not a policy of a store its a law or bylaw 3) basic human decency

If there is that many empty spaces in the pick up areas then there are many empty areas in the rest of the parking lot so no need to park there. Also the parking on the pick up spots is cyclic so it might be empty then but every hour it packs back up.
You are assuming you know how busy those spots will be when you get back.
How about if your car is unoccupied in those spots and all the spots get filled I can smash your windows?

I agree the wording of that post is a little odd in some parts, but the fact you actually want to park in those spots is also odd as well. I hate that area. Always tons of cars circling to park, or sometimes you get the grocery employees blocking you from exiting, or tail gates are open and sticking out, so the vehicles there stare at each other in confusion as to how to get out. I literally try not to drive through the row that has those stalls on purpose at times.

I just want to clarify, is this hypothetical or are you actually wanting to smash my car? Never can be too sure

Lately I've taken to calling people virgins instead of the R word.
Virgin is a great insult.

Did you consider that people who are getting their groceries delivered to their cars also may have mobility issues and you’re also making it a pain for the grocery store employees to go and hunt down the vehicle?

It's a valid point that was made earlier, that being closer to the store with small children is a matter of safety and warrants reserved spots...
That begs the question though - why didn't you just park in a "family" spot?
