Another apartment building with innocent civilians bombed in Ukraine. This time in the city of Uman. 20 confirmed dead so far.

Meanwhile Putin has ordered the building of war museums to commemorate the 'heroic' invasion of Ukraine.

I cannot believe this is real life.

I believe it. This is what russia has brought to the world for decades; death, destruction, despair and brutality wherever they go, then celebrating it like they have achieved something great.

There are a bunch of Calgary channels on Telegram for Ukrainian arrivals and today the russian trolls have infiltrated it, posting how great it is to murder babies and children in this attack. Admins are working OT to clean it up, but boy it ain't pretty reading some of the stuff.

In Ukraine news: the oil terminal in Sevastopol is on fire.

Yea something like 33 Russian bombers in the air. Ukraine launches attacks to hit military targets, Russians launch attacks to hit schools, apartment buildings, public spaces, and civilian infrastructure. Its barbaric.

When your military is impotent, you solely attack civilians.

I am probably wrong on this but it's my understanding some of Russia's highest level hypersonic missiles would not be downed by current air defense systems. It's one of the few pieces of Russian weaponry that the west/NATO just doesn't have a protective measure or defense for.

Some experts say the Patriot system can intercept Russia's hypersonic missiles over a smaller area, like in the defense of a large city, it would be tough if you didn't where they were going to strike but if you want to protect say a city like Kyiv they say it can be done.

What’s the lead time on a new patriot system?

Just keep building em and sending em to Ukraine till there is an iron dome over that entire country. That benefits all of NATO.

Two Canadians killed on Friday in Bahkmut, both were together when a Russian shell hit their fortified position.

As with a lot of things they're sending over, ammo might be the bottleneck. I think they currently only produce about 500 missiles a year, and the the vast majority of that is already spoken for by various countries.

I had met Kyle on a few occasions, he was an interesting person to say the lease and who lead one of those lives you really think are sort of not real. From wandering around the Scottish Highlands, protecting animals in South Africa against poachers or travelling to Ukraine for the second time to fight/work as search and rescue looking for people in rubble. Last time we talked was at a friends wedding in September having just got back from Ukraine not long before - and you could tell it left an impact on him as well as a desire to return.

He was a good soldier and person, a good friend to many, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Sounds like a guy who has lived more in his short time than most of us will in our lifetimes. RIP
