Yeah, same as in municipal elections - at least in my city.

As always I find myself in the middle. I should vote Liberal based on this.

this might have come off as snarky, but since there is a 50% + chance of the party expressing these views being elected, I would really love a forum where more people were at least articulating their support of this stuff, so others here could understand.

If so, my incumbent UCP candidate definitely jumped the gun. His signs were basically lining 37th street from Richmond to Bow trail at least 24 hours early.
I mean… my guess is that’s more about some overenthused volunteer not understanding instructions than anything nefarious or worth fussing over.
And I have yet to see a sign of his on a private lawn. I assume that’s coming, though the conventional wisdom is he’s in trouble if there has been an overall double digit drop in UCP support. NDP signs are popping up all around my neighbourhood—they clearly had their volunteers out over the weekend.

- Lock up the druggies. Actually I aligned with NDP here.
- Guns for all. Guns for law abiding citizens yes.
- Use this 1 last oil boom to cut my taxes 1 more time. What makes you think this is the last Oil boom? But no I was neutral here.
- F*** Trudeau, lets say mean things to Canada. Again, aligned with NDP here.
- We don't like these socialist programs unless it benefits the rich (more money to private schools). I aligned with the green party, exact opposite. No public funding for private schools.

I found it interesting I ended up exactly between UCP and NDP on the chart but the %'s tell me I am leaning more to UCP. I tend to lean to the right fiscally, socially I am without a party.
Honestly, Smith and Notley both scare me in different ways. So I'll likely not vote unless I hear some solid plans over the next couple of weeks.

I'm curious, what scares you about Notley? She is a known leader, so there shouldn't be any hidden surprises.

In a way backwards way it ends up supporting the NDP, as normally my vote would go conservative.

I've voted for them in the past and was one of their most vocal supporters here in past elections as well. But since Greg Clark left they're just the island of misfit conservatives, and won't be going anywhere until they get a strong leader again (and I hate to say that, as we're family friends of the Mori####a's).

It's interesting to go question by question results to see where you compare with the parties. Disagreements with NDP for me were typically it's on the most ambiguous questions where I could have answered several different ways...it definitely seems NDP went neutral on those ####ty questions that could easily be twisted the wrong way, which is smart.
There are a few questions that kinda seem unimportant in terms of personal impact, yet I think the answers are absolutely vital and disqualifying for the blue bozos:

a while ago I applied to work the election.
It was about 10 days after applications opened up so I don't know if I'll get the call.
Hope I do as the pay is awesome. $255 a day, according to the website.

You know I was writing up a response to this and ended up writing lists of what I disliked about both Notley and Smith and realized.. I don't really like any politicians.
There is a big surplus of Oil and Gas royalties and I am nervous on how either of them plans to spend/use it. I am going to leave it at that haha.
