Yes, no question.

Find the GM you want, and determine the appropriate/desired direction for the team, as well as prepare for the draft and the summer changes. Then hire the coach that fits the direction and roster.

Plenty of opportunities for rebound seasons, even just returning to normal and not career levels

Very easy to see a path where it’s not Conroy and GM and Mitch love as Head Coach,

Surprised - didn't think it would happen in the offseason, or until a new GM took over.

In all seriousness: Thanks for the great things you’ve accomplished for the Flames Darryl. This season was a mess, but he definitely brought excitement back to the team last year. He coached the team to multiple division titles and to the cup finals. I just ultimately think his style is just not the right fit for the current team and the NHL has passed him by in a lot of ways. Still appreciative of the good things he’s done for the Flames franchise

It’s heartbreaking it had to come to this, but it is the right move. This roster and Sutter were toxic and there was no other choice.

Love would be really interesting, especially when you think about who and how he brings up from the Wranglers.

Probably the right move. This year wasn’t good, but I thank Darryl for his time with the Flames. As coach, there was more good than bad, I’d say. Great guy especially with Family. Best of luck moving forward!

This was inevitable. Every coach has a shelf life, particularly one who can be as driving as Sutter.

He is a good coach who squeezes everything out of his players but I think the Oilers figured out how to play against his system in last years playoffs and many teams did the same this year. So, while a lot of underlying stats looked good the results weren't there. Even so, with league average goaltending the team would comfortably be in the playoffs.

This is a great opportunity to change the dynamic of this team from "do anything to get into the playoffs" to "build a team to win the Cup". It starts with getting the right GM and then the right coach. So, this is a step in the right direction but it will mean nothing if the next GM and/or coach aren't up to the task.
