I agree with that, like many older coaches they want/need full control of the dressing room, he did a stupid thing but I doubt he's a racist. Aliu isn't totally innocent here either, why play that kind of music in a room full of teammates that can't sing along?

That type of music is played everywhere by a lot of teams to get the locker room having fun get the energy going doesn't make it ok for anyone to say every single word.
Be like Lebron and sing the wrong lyrics.

And Treliving is not a public figure, I see no reason for him to have to answer any questions.

No good could come of it for him, so he won't say anything. Plus, he's always been classy. I bet he's taking a vacay.

Even his name sounds made up.

I'm not saying that he should talk about the Flames or have to answer questions. Even just token lip service would seem like a respectable thing to do.
"After 9 years, I felt it was time to move on and take a much needed break away from the game. The last season was mentally taxing and I want to spend more time with my family before deciding what is next for me. I appreciate this organization and being part of it for nearly a decade, and the fans as well. This city deserves a Stanley Cup and I wish the next GM well in continuing to build towards that".
I don't think there would be anything unclassy with something like that. I guess it's rare that a GM refuses to continue with an organization unless they are actually retiring, so maybe it is normal to just FO without a word when it happens. It's hard to think of similar situations I suppose. To me, it just comes off as a little rude and passive aggressive. I get it when guys get fired they aren't eager to make an exit statement to fans, but this was his choice apparently.

What does the statement you just wrote accomplish? It's lip service.
It's obviously a emotional move to not come back and we can put things together as to why he's not coming back and that issue will not change especially with the arena announcement.

I don’t think anyone ever said what the music was. But let’s say it was rap or R&B. In 2008, the #1 song that year was by Flo-Rida/T-Pain, the #4 song was Lil Wayne. Chris Brown had a ton of songs that year. So did T.I. Probably 1/4 of the top 100 was hip hop.

15 years ago was 2008, dude. Rap and Hip Hop was as much a part of mainstream music as it is now. Hell, in 2000 we were all singing along to "Ride Wit Me" by Nelly with tons of N bombs.
Listening to rap in mainstream music is not in any way a new phenomenon. Like wow.

But what if that’s just not the case? What if he was sick of a Edwards? What if he felt the issues between he and Sutter had got to a tipping point? Definitely lots of assumptions, but it does appear to be more than just being tired or burned out. And he’s taking the high road by saying nothing.
