Surprised he goes on with Russic and Rose.
Fun fact: Jarome and Tij both scored 6 goals in 48 games in their first "full" 16yo WHL season.

Interesting to see him develop, as we all found out this year. . . Expectations can be a huge burden sometimes. And that last name of his has expectations.

Was out at Rink Kelowna last weekend. Iggy looks not like the typical bloated retired NHLer. Beast. Ripped.
Was in Subway after the game getting the kid a sub and I look to my left and it's Todd Motherf'in Simpson.
I say "Todd Simpson"? He seemed genuinely surprised someone knew who he was. I said, you used to live down the street from me in your rookie year with Iggy and Joel Bouchard? and I give him the street. "How the hell do you know that?" he says.
I paid for his sub without him realizing and he gave my kid a signed photo. My kid had no idea who he was. Super nice guy. Sorry for the useless anecdote.

You didn't tell him you have mental files on everyone you've ever met?

Listened to the radio hit. Conduct yourself like Iginla does and you'll be alright. Guy is one of the best NHL players of all time, in the HOF, best Calgary Flame ever, and he's still talking about how he thought he was being pranked when his wife told him that he got the call as a replacement player for the Canadian Olympic team because he didn't think he was that good. He's humble, he deflects praise to his teammates and people around him and he never boasts. Legend.

He's a realtor, so maybe it was a one sheet with real estate listing.

Topic this morning on the Fan is "What is the worst draft pick in Flames history".
Why would I want to listen to that. Not asking for the guys to be homers or shine a turd but with so much negativity about the team, this is the best you can do?
At least balance it out: What are the worst and best draft picks in Flames history.
I'm not going sit there and listen about Hunter Smith and Mason McDonald. Boring.

It still blows my mind how prevalent calling and texting in is on the show, trying to get cheap laughs. And if that wasn't enough, they think asking random people questions at the train station is entertaining.

I only tune in from time to time in the 10 minutes I'm dropping my daughter off. That's their chance to grab me back. And every time they fail.
The drop in quality since Boom left is massive.

The only thing barely keeping the lights on there feels like it's because they're rights holders.

I find myself in the same situation. I gave up on the morning show a couple of months into the season...but every once in a while on the morning commute, I flip to the station to see if anything has improved...and I'm almost always greeted by ads or some going on about sports betting. So off it goes again.

If they are going to do that they should at least have invited Brett Krahn to be there…
(Edit - no he isn’t and his career as a Calgary personality more than makes up for it!)

Iginla is so good.
But he doesn't grant time to media very often.
So when he does, why would he offer precious time to these muppets?
