Norman Reynolds, the two-time Oscar winning production and art designer on Star Wars and Indiana Jones films once referred to by Steven Spielberg as the “creative core” of the franchises, has died. He was 89.
His family announced his death to the BBC, which reported the news today, noting that Reynolds “died peacefully with his wife Ann and three daughters by his side.”

I don't know Norm Reynolds but if Spielberg says he was the creative core of one of the two best films ever made then the man was really, really good at his craft.

Andy Sparacino, best known to most for his role as Tron in the Fubar movies/shows has passed away. Andy also played in a lot of local bands in Calgary during the 90’s and 2000’s and was probably one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met.
RIP Tron

I was friends with him when we were kids, and we were defence partners on the unstoppable Lake Bonavista Tiny Mite C Lakers. He had a rough last few years and I tried to reach out one Facebook to no avail. Just a super nice guy and his parents were just unbelievably nice as well.
RIP Andy.

Al Jaffee, a cartoonist who folded in when the trend in magazine publishing was to fold out, thereby creating one of Mad magazine’s most recognizable and enduring features, died on Monday in Manhattan. He was 102.
And his Banana Boat song brings back fond memories of a family trip to Belize. My family as well as my sister went to Belize for Christmas and the New Year. We were eating dinner out every evening and whichever restaurant we went to, the same band was playing...and they always asked for requests. My son would belt out DAAAYYYYYY OOOOOOO. Well for the first couple times, I guess the band thought it was ok, but then I think they thought we were following them and they frowned every time my son requested the same song. Anyhow, good times, great song.

Peak Jerry Springer was about as entertaining as daytime TV ever was. Sure it was all phony and contrived or whatever, but it was entertaining as hell. RIP to the legend.

He had quite the life from news anchor, mayor of Cincinnati, political talk show, dysfunctional people talk show, etc. I have to admit his show was pretty hilarious at it's peak.
