No question Kirk is a better hitter than Jano. But when Jano gets hot he's in a league of his own. A lot of raw power. These are bombs.

For some reason I just love it when DJ gets on a heater. Dude’s a very good catcher and when he’s contributing offensively, he’s just crazy good found money.

If Berrios gets out of this inning, Pearson could be a decent option for the 8th. Just saying.

Jano had a 141 OPS+ last year. That’s pretty impressive for a guy not known as a big time bat.

It’s wild that, when they are all on, IMO, Manoah has the fourth best stuff in the rotation. I’d argue it goes:
1) Gausman
2) Kikuchi
3) Berrios
4) Manoah
5) Bassitt
Between the top three, it’s really debatable. Gausman’s splitter is absolutely elite but Kikuchi’s fastball is pretty impressive. Berrios gets tons of movement.

Adding to my last post, Manoah isn’t a guy who wins on stuff though. He doesn’t really need his absolute best stuff to win while Kikuchi and Berrios really need good stuff.

Pearson is such a mystery box at this point. He could have been a boat but for the injuries and also, I’m unsure if he’s got the mental makeup necessary. Perhaps he can turn into an effective reliever. Sad for him as he was trending towards being an ace once upon a time.

7 quality starts in a row now.
Love to see the rotation rolling along like it is. Keeps the pressure off the bullpen and the wind start piling up.

He was the #1 prospect from Baseball America. That's a huge expectation put on him. Baseball is that way though as prospects even highly rated sometimes just fizzle. I really think they need to handle him with kids gloves and just give him opportunities against bad teams to do well. They have psychiatrists and pros, but the situations they give him have to build him up bigtime. I still think the world of him.
