I'm sure nobody would lose their mind if the NDP temporarily pulled the funding demanding more transparency or something (kinda what the UCP did for the Green Line)

Maybe I missed it, any mention of approximate construction timeline?

With the funding being towards infrastructure, I don't think the NDP would kill the deal.
I do view it as if the NDP does kill the deal, they get left holding the bag as the government that lost Calgary the Flames.
(That said, I don't think the NDP would kill the deal)

I'll love to be a fly on the wall of the NDP war room. I would expect a measured response after they get a chance to read the agreement.

I'm sure there is a lot of emotion associated with this announcement. I'm sure that from CSEC this has been a very bittersweet day and thoughts have turned to Ken King and all the work he did trying to get this project pushed across the finish line.

Yep, NDP will likely say 'NDP will support and move forward with this deal'. As they should right now.

It’s is nothing like an NDP deal. If the NDP wanted to throw provincial dollars at this, they definitely could have when they were in govt but they refused to do so…and, in my opinion, it was the right choice.

This stadium is a 42,000 seater with a roof and only cost 155 million euros. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juventus_Stadium
Why is this project costing 1.2 billion???

Well, they won't until they look at it and then they will say they will.
Probably they will say how nice it is that the UCP has realized that community spending is good and profess a hope that they will do the same in other areas.

Hey, I get it. I don't even live in Calgary and I feel kind of emotional about it.

Detroit's was $863 million US and opened 6 years ago. Not just when it started construction.

I’m past caring about the funding, it’s going to be what it’s going to be. Just get a shovel in the ground before Murray can back out again.

This sounds like don't get too excited until there are actual shovels in the ground.

It is like one because the provincial $$ are infrastructure.
I don't recall any such opportunity offered to them. Here's what they actually said though:
