I really wanted the Flames to pick him up from the Islanders.

Hakstol looked like a mediocre hire at the time of the announcement and didn't do much to change that in their first season but he's done a good job getting the most out of their talent without resorting to playing a stifling defensive system.

Edmonton guy here and I agree.
He's a player that everyone I know still cheers for.

I think Makar should get a game at least for that. It was incredibly late.
Edit: having a hearing today. Guessing 1 or 2 games.

I didn't know Makar had a nasty streak in him like that. The action itself isn't dirty like a classic Pronger crosscheck or Duncan Keith slash. But that might be one of the latest hits that I can remember. No way McCann was expecting Makar to ram his head into the glass that late. If it's Manson he's probably got his guard up expecting something suspicious.

I didn't think the hit was bad apart from being late, and it was obviously very, very late. Maybe he could get a game, but it wasn't a hit in the numbers or anything like that. I feel like we see stuff more or less as dirty all the time. If there's a suspension, it's just because of the injury.

And the fact there was no reason whatsoever to make that hit to a guy without the puck. The puck as someone else said, wasn't even in the same time zone.
It wasn't reactionary, but a deliberate action against a defenseless player.
It was a bad look that the refs decided not to give him 5 and a game after it happened.
He deserves at least 2 games, imo.

I find Avs fans defending the hit by stating the whistle was late funny. The whistle is irrelevant. He shot the puck, it got deflected out of play, he then skated to a different area of the ice, and got rammed into the boards.
It blows my mind that the major got reduced to a minor. I think if it was kept a major that might have been it, maybe a fine, but considering he got to stay in the game I think he needs to miss some time. My guess is one game.

That's strange, as Colorado was never ahead

Rumor out of Colorado is Makar will get 1 game and will be out for game 5. I thought it should have been a major penalty. Surprised they only gave him 2. Fantastic player but made a poor decision. McCann as a result has already been ruled out for game 5 and he is Seattle's best forward (40 goal guy).

Marek thinks it will be 2 games. He’s usually pretty good.
If he got a major and kicked out of the game I could see one.

I knew the result, but I could have sworn I saw a 2-1 Avs lead posted somewhere. Maybe it was the series and not the game.

I've been giving Eberle #### for not having any finish. Nice to see him come through.

I'm pretty sure that the Krakken have spent more time playing with the lead in this series than the Avalanche have. They've scored first in every game and had leads in the second period in 3 of the games.
So they're not getting dominated and are lucky it's 2-2. Colorado had a surge in the second half of game 2 and was better in most of game 3. But the Krakken are very much in this, and there's no pressure on them.

Just given 1 game officially as per the rumor out of Colorado. No longer a rumor, 1 game for Makar announced.
