Anyways Leafs didn't deserve that win but Sammy played great in OT and they got it.

It was a brutal hit and would normally have been a penalty, but they were calling OT like the old days and put their whistles away. I never know what to expect from refs, but they still seemed balanced in how they called it.

Definitely Samsonov's best game.

Tampa outshot and outchanced the Leafs and just couldn't lock it down defensively. Vasilevski continues to be a mystery game to game. If Tampa won that, I'd say it would be game over for the Leafs, but the momentum and heartbreak have concretely swung the other way. I'm saying Leafs now take the series with the next two games.


Crazy how some were doubting Samsonov this year. He's been very good all year and a great signing.

I hadn't really watched the Leafs before the playoffs, but I wasn't impressed with Samsonov in games one and two. I thought he looked like the weak link on the team. But, he was very good yesterday. He made a lot of great stops and was solid throughout. The Leafs needed him and he got them through it against a very tough and talented opponent on their home ice. If he can keep that up the Leafs look like a real contender.

It's pretty ridiculous that Stamkos didn't get an extra penalty for this. All because the refs are afraid to put any team at too much of a disadvantage since they "already have a call against them". If it's a penalty, call it.

In a regular season game Stamkos gets the instigator there for sure. But it’s playoff reffing so he doesn’t. It was clear as day he went after Matthews, who didn’t even have a hand free at the time, and the ref was right there.

Is this Toronto team the biggest goon squad ever? In the entire playoffs there has been two disciplinary actions handed out to the Leafs. Rest of the league: Zip, zero, nada.
