Definitely upside for this deal to be a massive steal for the next 2 years. Need more of these contracts.
Isn't league min going up to $775k this year? He's only 50k above league min on a 2 year deal.

I like Duehr and this contract will keep him in the fold and "motivated" for a pay raise in two years (which is what you want out of a young bottom-6 guy).

No risk, possibly high reward. He gets contract security which is great for a guy that maybe was tracking to be AHL only.
I think this is a great deal. Great first signing by Maloney.

I don’t necessarily agree with this. These type of players need to stay hungry to keep that high tempo. Of course if we thought there was a possible ceiling of a 20 goal scorer then you take the risk and sign a longer term.

Chances are pretty good this was agreed to at seasons end though and was just delayed to today for announcement.

A UFA year would likely have cost about $2.5 I guess, as it costs Duerr a chance to become a UFA. So, maybe 3 years at about $ 1.4.
