Packers did okay seeing they didn't have the leverage of other interested teams.

Packers should thank the Jets putting themselves into a box for this return being not bad. Once the Jets ran out of alternatives it was either pay for Rodgers, or have the fans revolt with another year of the Zach Attack.

Doesnt seem like too much. Assuming Rodgers hits the compensation i would assume its a mid to late first.so a late first and mid round 2nd. Its not nothing, but its hardly the standlone #13 pick + substantially more that Green Bay was reportedly asking for in March.

They have a ready made team, gambling on a rookie and the extremely high cost it would take to get into the top 2 (assumption that Stroud and Young are the only day one starters) wouldn't go over well. And even though Rodgers looked washed last year, he needs to basically play at a replacement level and the Jets are a playoff team. If he rebounds to anything close to his normal level they'll be contenders.

Its pretty much a pick swap going up 2 spots a 2nd and potential 1st for Rodgers.
Not awful but not great.

The fact that GB doesnt retain a penny of salary makes this a slam dunk....and changes the course of the next 2 years in a way they couldnt have imagined before the deal.

Instead, the Jets will inherit the remainder of his contract, which includes $59.465 million guaranteed in salary and bonus this season. Most of it is made up of a $58.3 million bonus that is due no later than Week 1 of this season

Moving up a couple spots and landing a 2nd and likely 1st next year is just the cherry on top for a guy that wasnt going to go to any other team.
Imma A-OK with this and thankful his act is now gone.
Gonna be a couple years of hurt going forward but they just expidited the "rebuild" as it were.
I have zero doubt Jordan Love is not the answer to the next great Packer QB, so im expecting that they will pick one in the mid rounds this year and probably be forced to take one high next year.

Amazing return for a guy who's made a mockery of himself and the Packers. Twilight of his career, not great anymore, and a complete distraction to the team.
to shed the entire salary and gain multiple picks? When the whole league knew he was going to the Jets is a hell of a win for the Packers. good riddance Aaron

I’m a Pack fan and am delighted that they took out the trash. Now to decide the fate of my Rodgers jersey.

I'm in the exact same boat. I feel bad because it's a pretty nice jersey I got for Christmas a while ago. I am wondering about maybe just getting the name bar changed because I don't know if taking the numbers off will leave a bunch of holes in it. The options for former #12 players on the Packers is pretty slim. Maybe I'll just change the name bar to "AYAHUASCA".
I'm just happy I don't have to hear about it anymore.

Decent haul. No guarantee Rodgers plays at all next season, nevermind in NY.
Still think Rodgers may go to SF next season. From out there, more laid back...as him vs the NY press and fans will be a show in itself.

Id just be curious to know what would have happened if they stayed pat. Everyone knew Rodgers had played his last snap. Just had to wait them out.
Wonder if GB Tries to hump up for a QB at the draft

Less of a chance people get fired with Rodgers at QB than Wilson. The only negative for me as a fan is that there's going to be way too many Jets and Giants games on prime time. At least the Jets games will be interesting but the Giants are the Wild of the NFL when it comes to entertainment value.

Honestly just get a new jersey and sit on the Rodgers one for now.
He's poison right now but in 10 years most of this will be forgotten and he will just be seen as a Packers Legend.

Exactly. Likely even sooner.
There are names ringing Lambeau of past Packer and Pro football HOFers.
He will be the next one. Probably midway through the season after he actually calls it quits.
