We know every science fiction trope is you take out the weak point or the core and it blows everything else up with it.

Lol, or how they had no idea where the radio or communication device was... but if they looked at the ####ing enormous antenna sticking out the anterior side from the middle, I am pretty sure they could have guessed it would be at the base of that. Alternately, why not destroy the large emitter that clearly must have been necessary to boost the signal or Jack-fi?

The Borg cube was hiding in Jupiter - wasted opportunity to find a way to get Jupiter's gravitation to crush the cube rather than rely on the trope of fly into the core and shoot it.

I'm picturing a short where Garrett Wang has his real life parents sat down in front of the TV for the Picard finale with a big bowl of popcorn.

"You'll finally see it Mom and Dad! I finally made it to captain!"

I'm stuck on this, work this afternoon completely ruined. LOL

How about that massive loose end of the open transwarp conduit to the delta quadrant just chilling in the Sol system now? That won't go bad.

In a prime example of network engineering cost cutting, the queen is responsible for maintaining the transwarp network. So no queen, no transwarp conduits.

I presumed the "drones loading torpedoes" were shore-side at the base, not on the ship.

If they were Exocomps nothing would have got done, because they never would have gone along with that suicide mission in the first place.

I liked the Borg Queen's sense of symmetry by giving Jack/Vox his father's hand me downs so he looked like Jean-Luc/Locutus

Well, except for the extremely cheap/ probably way easier for makeup borg getup they gave him. It was just a morphsuit with borg implants glued onto it. They chunked up like one of those old batman costumes with fake muscles whenever he moved around.

Okay, you have a point, but Data, Binars, and Barclay have also all shown they can completely take over the ship with limited or no crew before in the past. Another easy fix would have been for data to just plug into ship like he did on the Titan and say he's controlling the ship directly from his positronic matrix.

Maybe on the Enterprise D, Data could be looking for where to plug in and Geordi could be like "I've upgraded to Bluetooth for you!"

And when Picard decided to get back into collective he could have been like "I'm jacking in, Jack!"

I wish they ripped out his eye to replace with a Hugh hologram sticker, cut off his legs or arms and gave him a wacky spinny tool thing and a bionic piston foot. Then when he joins 7 of 9 as counselor he could have had an eye-patch and a peg-leg.

I know Locke would have enjoyed at least a montage of the assimilation scene chop shopping him into "son of Frankenstein".

True, but the Bynars were the only ones who actually managed to automate the ship to travel all on its own without a crew supporting it. Data and Barclay took over control of the computer systems, but the ship was still manned. In all cases they were simply taking the ship from point A to point B, not taking it into heavy combat.

I found it rather silly and hard to believe within the logic of the show, and if they'd had maybe another two or three people in main engineering, it would have gone a long way. But then again, this is a science fiction fantasy show with a fairly flimsy premise as it is, so, whatever...
All they had to do was have Geordi plug a USB cable into the back of "upgraded" Data's head and say that his new hybrid brain was more than powerful enough to control an old outdated ship. I mean that's pretty #### reasoning too, but way better than the "just ignore it" way they chose

I completely missed the part where Data says "here goes nothing" as he flies in, exactly quoting Lando Calrissian as he flies in lol.

It makes way more sense but takes away from the scene of Data flying by this guts.

I love how obsessed you are with this because I was the same way.

I really, really wanted an Ensign Kim cameo...but as Ensign Kim.

Age him up so he looks super old, have him holding a plunger or a vacuum or something? Just really go to town on the joke.

Speaking of drones loading torpedoes onto the Enterprise D, I wonder how Geordi justified that to Starfleet and nobody questioned it.

The Fleet museum needs 50 photon torpedoes... for reasons.

Better question: where the hell is the rest of the staff at the fleet museum? Surely Geordi and his daughter weren't the only two people keeping an entire starbase and a fleet of ships in presentable condition, while also rebuilding the Enterprise-D on the side...

I like how they keep pointing out the immature Kurtzman dialogue of SNW. One of the reasons its off-putting to me
