Ho hum. Just another sick religious leader doing sick stuff. Dalai lama asks young boy to suck his tongue.

Everything is fine though. He was busted so he apologized.

His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way

The 87-year-old spiritual leader then invites the boy on stage and points to his cheek and says, “first here,” prompting the boy to give him a hug and a kiss.

The Dalai Lama then points to his lips, and says: “then I think finally here also.” He then pulls the boy’s chin and kisses him on the mouth.

“And suck my tongue,” he says after a few seconds, poking his tongue out.

####ing religion..........

The Dalai Lama is on a constant tour of western nations spewing rhetoric that makes appear as wise and sympathetic to western sensibilities. He's just fishing for western support in the hopes of getting his country back, so he can go back to enjoying the brutal god-king status all the previous Dalai Lamas enjoyed.

You mean like all of those Catholic priests and bishops that have been thrown in jail for child molestation?

It may be easier for you to type if you come down from your cross.

All religions have pedophiles but only the Christian ones are prosecuted for some reason

Excuses and whining..

The rate of sexual abuse in churches by clergy is about the same from Catholics to Protestants, from synagogues to mosques, and from Mormons to Jehovah's Witnesses and everyone else. One day it's a youth pastor who got caught in a sexual relationship with an underage teen, the next day it's the rabbi, the day after that it could be anyone from any religion.

Among those men convicted of sex crimes, only 15% had never attended church in their youth. The majority (56%) attended church services weekly or even more often when they were children. What might this mean? We probably don't want to say that mere attendance of church as a youth causes sexual criminality. But it seems to be the case that taking our children to church offers them no protection against a future of potential sexual criminality.

They're is no proof that white Christians are prosecuted more than other religions.
There is lots of proof that pedophilia is rampant in all religions.

Surely you meant to word that in a way that is less awful, like: “other religions could do a better job of weeding out these criminals from positions of power, like we do!”. I mean, we could all have a sensible chuckle about you boasting about Christianity being a world leader in push for the prosecution of pedophiles in their ranks. But at least then it wouldn’t sound like you think they shouldn’t be prosecuted at all….

Imagine reading about an old man asking a young boy to suck his tongue and your first reaction being, “Why can HE get away with it when WE can’t?” and wondering why nobody trusts you.

Most people would see that and think “wow, gross, nobody should be doing that,” not “UNFAIR!”

More like Christians are held accountable while it is not politically correct to go after pedos in other religions. It’s sickening the Dalai Lama gets no repercussions while Catholicism is ridiculed since it is ok to attack Christians

Over what period of time is that church data collected and what portion of people never attended church in their youth? I’m assuming it’s US data. Right now in the US 70% of Americans have attended church in the past year. If you just looked at parents with children it probably goes up not sure though. So the stat that only 15% never attended church in their youth is likely within error margins of the general population.

The weekly one is a little lower but Americans report between 22% and 44% depending on the study. So at best without accounting for the time lag in the stats pedophila is 2-3 times more prevalent amoung weekly church goers. It would be interesting to see a proper analysis of the numbers to actually establish that prevelenace. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_attendance

So I think the conclusion that should be drawn is Pedophilia is rampant in areas where there is unchecked power on those in power. Religion is a place where it is more prevelent but I think it would hurt detection and prevention if the focus is on religion rather than places of authority. Schools, Familes, Sports, Churches, Community Groups etc.

You should strive to anchor yourself in the realm of reality before trying to make an argument.

I know you won't read it, but here.

Is that literally not what is happening? He is experiencing the same repercussions as 95% of all the catholic church leaders that are pedophiles.
