I still have yet to see any video that shows conclusively it was touched. If it’s the next day and people are still debating the play it probably means the right call was made.

What's funny is, even if it hit the stick (definitely inconclusive), no advantage was gained on the play. It's a nothing thing, but yeah let's focus on that. TMZ

Aren't watching, but bring on as many inconclusive replays on game winning goals against the Oilers as you can.
After escaping game 5 last year vs the Flames on an egregious reversal, a game result for the Flames which very well could've sunk the Oilers the next two games in a monumental collapse, they, their fans, their media (CHED and CBC) deserve all the snivelling whining and faux outrage they are undoubtedly spewing.

The puck doesn't have enough momentum to cause the stick to move like that. Also, if the puck DID cause the stick to move like that, the puck would have changed direction (equal and opposite force)

Woodcroft said. "It appears to me in the video that the puck is going straight up in a trajectory and it deadens. In the end I'm going to go with the greatest player in the world who is three feet away.”
I’ve been searching the internet all night for that quote from Casey Stengel where he said “if Mickey Mantle says it wasn’t a strike I’m going with the greatest player in the world who’s 8 inches away”
Can’t seem to find it right now though…

Just saw Woody's press conference. Embarrassing on a monumental scale.
So now McBaby has to be the greatest player in the world, carry the entire team on his back, AND referee the games?

It looks to me like it may have grazed his stick but neither angle is conclusive so the right call was made.

Sorry little Opie but "appears" isn't conclusive. I assume a genius like you would know that.

Just watched highlights on TSN followed by 2 analysts basically explaining what inconclusive means. Comes off as damage control. It's embarrassing all around. At some point the media is going to turn on the Oilers. They have to.

The joy that Draisaitl being selfish, Nurse being awful. McDavid failing as a ref and their pasty faced Eddie Munster look alike coach looking completely lost is extremely satisfying.
Edmonton has to go 3-1, its not impossible, but you never ever give the underdog a sniff of belief.

Obviously inconclusive, and absolutely the case that there isn't "definitive evidence to overturn the call".
But everyone is debating - and Oiler fans are crying about - this completely irrelevant play, but here's the thing:
1) the Oilers only scored 2 goals
2) they scored zero goals, 5 on 5
3) RNH made a stupid play - when you break the guy's stick with a hack, it is called every time, almost as automatic as a puck over the glass
4) Nurse with yet another incomprehensible play in front of the net, allowing Moore to be wide open
You lost. Trying to claim that a puck MIGHT have nudged a stick 30 seconds before the goal, makes you look - again - like pissy, self-entitled whiners.

I've said it a bunch of times, I'll say it again: the Kings are probably the most under-rated team in the NHL.

The hilarious thing about the conspiracy argument is that Toronto INITIATED the review.
If the fix is in, you don't CREATE a controversy by initiating the review, just so that you can then purposely overturn it.
Frustration, at the time, after getting scored on, is understandable. Arguing until you're blue in the face that the league is out to get you, is moronic and childish. Claiming that your player is the best player in the world, and therefore his (completely non-biased) viewpoint should supersede the video review, is next-level moronic from the coach.
Think about what Sutter would have said in that situation - he would have said: "RNH shouldn't have hacked the guy. And Nurse shouldn't have abandoned the front of the net. That's what I think about the review."

And Kempe one of the most underrated players. Same thing happened with Kopitar for years.

That’s conclusively a high stick. The only way the puck can change rotation like that is by being acted upon by an outside force, and the stick is the only possibility. Airflow from the sticking waving close by isn’t enough. Surprised they let that stand.
Thank god though!

Their fans, media, and players blowing up on this could be a great thing. I hope it’s the distraction that they never recover from the remaining two games of this series.
