It's been a while. I think that there is a lot of exaggeration that goes on among all NHL teams. I don't think it is a coincidence that most people here are accusing their biggest rivals teams of diving their way to success... maybe the rose coloured glasses work both ways I suppose.

Maybe, but also pretty rare to see a player do something so blatant in the middle of the ice during a goal celebration. Not exactly a “they’re not calling it both ways” situation. Leon is just a selfish player that thinks he’s above the law.

McDavid does not have a 5-on-5 point in this series. Not a single one.

Think that should probably be more of a talking point than the refs

Agreed - I just understand the frustration that comes with seeing someone on your favourite team getting a penalty in that manner as I am sure most Flames fans can understand.

Oilers are looking frustrated. The Kings defend really well, their goaltender is top notch, and they play a strong overall team game. They're already looking poised to take the series, but if they can also get Fiala back in the next couple of games, they're gonna be very tough to beat.

Can’t believe the refs just gingerly backed him away like that. The refs need to make an example of him and boot him right out of the game with authority at that exact moment. And if he keeps barking at them, resisting leaving the ice immediately, you turn it into abuse of an official call and have it reviewed for a suspension. Put him in his place. I know the game ended up being over anyways but I imagine refs are sick of his entitled attitude.

Just like Wayne was back in the day and the refs didn’t seem to care… there are other players that do the same thing and it’s never been a good look.

Now they've moved on to "the greatest player in the world says it was a high stick" again and again.

Woodcroft is pathetic. He basically said that because McDavid made the call on the high stick, the refs should have deferred to McDavid because he is the best player in the world and he wouldn't put his hand up in the air if it wasn't true.

He wanted to because he's so used to getting away with it and he doesn't think the ref has the ball to call a penalty on him.
