Some here argued that the blue checks were more important to the users than were to Twitter. We'll find out quickly that isn't the case then fake accounts start popping up all over the place giving fake news.
It could have possibly worked Musk's action didn't make the blue check a scarlet letter for the vast majority of the 'important' users on Twitter. Now the blue check is pretty much only going to be bought by Musk sycophants, crypto/AI thread guys, and grifters (who some will fall under the Crypto/AI thread guy category). There will be some reporters/normies who buy it because they want to edit tweets but not many.

Don’t even know if he should be building rockets either. Granted there is *hopefully* more government and regulatory oversight to prevent anything similar to the meddling he engages with at Twitter.

You're probably right. TBH I think he would just do better at everything if he just focuses on venture capital investments, stays out of the way of managing the businesses, and shuts his mouth to the public entirely. Learn from Warren Buffett.

Musk removing Government funded media from CBC, NPR ect was a cynical move, he also remove it from RT and the Chinese propagandists on Twitter, two countries where twitter is banned.
