Up until yesterday. Let's be real. He's the new Brad.
It's Edwards -> Bean -> Maloney -> GM -> AGM
Who do you expect to be there to present Maloney moving into President of Hockey Operations and Interim GM role?
After the mention of the position change is where Bean should have ended his inclusion in the press conference though or at least always deferred to Maloney on anything hockey related.
Okay, so if we haven't figured out this thread. It's basically a look at who Murray Edwards is directly trotting out an accountant. There is a problem here. That's my subtle indication.
Can anyone give me or show me an example of an accountant on media representing an NHL organization as front face. CEO CFO or not?

I think the connection is between the accountant and his role in the organization. Clearly working with Edwards.
Are we prepared to identify teams that take out their CFO? And again, in the interest of discovery if he is now the CEO of CESC that is knowledge. I know him as the CFO.
The other point is what other teams in the NHL have a person like this in the media?
He’s not the accountant. He’s not the CFO. He’s the President and CEO, a position he has held for four years (2019). This is not new information. He did not fire Treliving, Treliving quit. Teams also have their President/CEO in the media about as often, if not significantly more so, as the Flames trot Bean out.
No offence, but everything that seems weird about this seems to be because you don’t understand who people are and what has happened.

I think the real question is if John Bean can play goal. I mean, we have a Vezina caliber goaltender and all, but maybe Bean's best value to the organization can be as a netminder?
I don't think it matters so much who these guys are or what they do. They don't play on the ice, and they don't have a lot of influence on how those players play the game.
Look further down the corporate structure and you'll find the culprit.

So you want a face who does nothing else but sit on the sidelines until it's their time once a decade to present the new person at the top of hockey operations?
