I think a lot of it has to do with re-sale value and the fact that many people switch homes so often now. It's tough to sell a house that you like, but other buyers don't.
Also, modern farmhouse can go away any day now. If I see another barn door in a 30 story condo apartment, i may jump off the balcony

Don’t forget to close the barn door behind you

Shrinkflation grinds my ... coffee. Local roasters used to have 1 lb/454 g bags. Then everyone moved to 340 g / 12 oz for about the same price - $18-20. I needed beans today and my local cafe was closed (they sell in bulk) so I grabbed beans at the grocery store. 300 g bag for $19, locally roasted. Getting $$$, and 300 g won't even last close to a week.

It’s all in the grind. Can’t be to fine, can’t be to coarse.

Chip in a wall means ignoring it, or filling and repainting the whole wall.

The sheen is more important. If you get a 98% match that's as close as possible these days.

Yeah, some of the packaging is getting pretty outlandish too. Like little candy bags. Sorry, just give me a full lb in a brown paper bag please

From the "Treliving gone" thread... a "calendar year" is January through December, people. If you're taking about the horrendous last 12 months for the Flames, it's just "the last year" not "the last calendar year. "

Dogs. I don't know if there are more dog owners and/or more inexperienced dogs owners but I've been lunged at/attacked 3 times in the last 6 months, Was bitten on the side of the knee yesterday, I've lived in this same neighborhood 10+ years, never happened. I even stop to pet friendly dogs on my walks.
So just a warning if you're taking a walk. I'm an adult so I'm can dodge and get away, at least have some awareness, but kids and/or babies this could be dangerous.

Sorry to hear about the bite. Did you get the owner's information?

It's all the pandemic puppies that grew up with someone around all the time, and now go 10 hours alone. Probably mostly first time dog owners who I imagine never had any formal training, and neither did the dogs. Only 10 or so years to go...

That's a weird way to get someone's phone number, how do you know she's even interested after their dog bit her?
