Do you really believe Sportsnet is neutral? All their money comes from Canadian teams. And they are going to push a "Canada's Team" narrative if any of these advance deep.
I don't know. Even though at times his Canucks love slipped through the cracks, Jim Hughson made a concerted effort to call an unbiased playoff game. If he's going to be totally biased on the national feed they may as well throw in Monster Truck guy.
He's literally a diehard Oilers fan - or was in the early 00s anyway. I was half-expecting open dejection by him on the Kings tying and OT winning goals haha, but I could tell he was trying to be "neutral national broadcaster" and sound excited about it.

Of course. They're going to be a little more energetic for Oiler goals and are going to focus on Oiler narratives more than Kings ones and replays are going to focus on the Oilers. That's fine. But have a modicum of integrity, don't go full Avalanche regional broadcast and no-sell a last minute game tying goal. Then NO ONE but Oilers fans will want to watch your broadcast.
He just sucks. They should have put the Vancouver guys on this series instead of Boston Florida.

Could you imagine being a billionaire who is constantly crowing and proud of this giant "fancy" new arena you've built for your pet hockey club, and how it's bringing pride back to your garbage home town (you do admit it was garbage before you paid money to locate downtown). Meanwhile, every time your "fans" come over, they throw trash all around and piss all over the side of it.

Something terrific about going to bed with the game tied ant the end of regulation and then waking up to see that LA completed the comeback.
Like waking up on Christmas morning.
I agree. I watched the first period and turned it off after the Oilers went up 2 zip. Flipped to the game late in the 2nd and the score was the same. Had no idea LA came back. Very pleasantly surprised this morning.
I'll say it for you: Edmonton fans are classless as ####.
Honestly, they have to be one of the least pleasant fanbases to interact with on this sub. Obv not all of them, but I just seem to encounter so many more #######s with an Oilers flair than any other around here, it's like there's something in the water up there. Our GDTs are always unbearable because inevitably some ###### from the Oilers side starts rooting for our players to get hurt or starts crying about how every ref is paid off against them. I'd say they're probably my least favorite fanbase on a general scale as far as reddit interactions go, although for some reason Minnesota fans seem to be real dicks to us too for reasons I don't really understand.
Like I thought Calgary fans were obnoxious with all their "operation regicide" brigading in 2015, but somehow Oilers fans have made me respect how kind and friendly Calgary fans are by comparison.

Their setup on the winner was so reminiscent of the Flames last year.
I'm glad the calls balanced out a bit. The first period seemed like the calls were not going to go LA's way in the game, especially with missed calls like the obvious stick to the face by Nurse.

It's nothing we haven't known since the early 80's. In fact I would say that today they may be on the same level of arrogance as they were in the 80's despite the team being totally 180 degrees in regards to actual success winning cups.
For any Flames fan that even considers cheering on the Oilers for one second during the playoffs, please consider the situation. If Oilers fans and media are this unbearable when they are at the same level of the Flames (mediocrity) then imagine just how unbearable they would be if they actually won something. Don't do something you may live to regret by supporting that mob.
