Swoop in at the end, one of the closing scenes is Seven's formal promotion to captain and Janeway is there or something.

Which would be kind of hilarious insofar as...purportedly...Mulgrew and Ryan literally loathe each other.

Janeway will show up, but based on how this show has treated other returning characters, I don't like her chances.
Ro: Dead
Shelby: Dead
Tuvok: Presumed dead
Janeway: Probably on borrowed time

So, um, remind me... ultimately what were the 'rogue' Changelings' motivations to help the Borg 'infect' all the youngins in Starfleet? Like, we saw that Vadic was among a group of ten (or so?) Changelings who were poked and prodded during (and after?) the Dominion War, so I understand the resentment there...
... but why were they helping the Borg? Did I miss something?

Dead means nothing if they need a character they are brought back no matter how preposterous the circumstances are.

The ye old trope of revenge (being a dish best served cold). Nothing beyond that thin dimension.

Not like a long, protracted, drawn out fight where they each get a valiant death sequence and sacrifice themselves for the Federation.
Just warp into Sol...*pew-pew...pew-pew-pew*
"Welp. Thats them done. Lets go, wez gots assimilatin' to do!"
Credits.
Nobody would see it coming.

I'm kind of expecting the go out in a blaze of glory ending but probably the protracted drawn out fight kind.

Oh they're going to fight and they're going to win and we all know it.
We also know that Geordi's hastily re-built Enterprise D is going saucer-first into a Borg ship.
That is a thing that is going to happen.

I'd like to see someone shoot the Enterprise D which is like a 40 year old obsolete Star Ship by leaning out the window of a changeling controlled ship and shooting it with a hand phaser and destroying it completely.

I wish Geordi would have installed the phaser lance from the TNG finale, always loved how that thing just carved through targets like butter

I finally caught up on the series.
Holy effing hell, when they boarded the D, i nearly cried tears of joy. lol. What nostalgia. This series has brought back so many great memories for me. Especially this season.

So...Lets go all in!
Can....the Borg assimilate a Traveler? And then the Q continuum make him a Q?
You gotta think its more than a little BS that Wesley's little brother bruvva is the one this is all about.
Could the finale be...some sort of Pah Wraith ethereal boxing match between 'Traveler Wesley' and 'Borg King Jack' for the fate of the Galaxy?
I love throwing these insane theories out there because, as ridiculous as they are...theres a chance.

Maybe Dr. Pulaski's smugness will cause all the Borg to self destruct.
Or Denise Crosby's Sela will be the puppet master behind the Borg

No O'Brien will wake up somewhere and the Borg assimilation of Star Fleet will be another 30 year simulated prison sentence that happened in his mind causing permanent PTSD (again).

That kid with the holodeck in the cave that had a playdate with Riker met up with the Ferengi with the mind control sphere thing, and they have teamed up with the Obsidian order, who are actually in cahoots with the Dominion, to scour the mind of an ancient Jean-Luc Picard for an answer to the Borg, who have been assimilated by Scientology.
