It's absolutely insane how much has changed within a calendar year.

Bringing on Iginla as a coach in any capacity only makes sense if this team is rebuilding.
He has no experience as a pro hockey coach. You wouldn't be putting him in a position to succeed.

Iginla is not coming to Calgary. That was pure click bait.

Bad decision. Probably borne out of the insistence to hire/keep Sutter by ownership. GM's need autonomy in their jobs otherwise they are lame ducks.
Best of luck to Treliving. He's a smart hockey guy that got dealt a lot of bad hands here. I'm sure he'll have success elsewhere.
Conroy? You're up!

Yeah likely ... not sure we disagree about much.
Maloney likely aligned with Edwards which could be the big issue going forward for sure.
But a good man with some experience which I think is key for a young hire GM likely coming in.
Won't change the meddling owner if that's the case, but I'd rather have an experienced guy helping the inexperienced guy with the owner involved or not.

Honestly that's a good thing. We really don't need to emulate the Oilers and Canucks here.

The Oilers or Canucks don't have a Jarome Iginla.

I don't know, he chose the wrong team to get traded to for his cup. Not very shrewd lol.
I just hate they committed to Sutter over Treliving. IF a new GM is given the same ultimatum then I think they'll hire a dud

This seems to confirm that Edwards is the root cause of most problems.

Needed change. I believe Treliving took the franchise as far as he could for the past 10ish years.
I wonder if this mean Conroy is going to get a legit shot at being the GM now, or the Flames are genuine in finding someone else to cover the role?
I wanted change in the front office, so I'm getting my wish. Tre will be alright, and do well elsewher.
