So much smoke surrounding Kyrou that makes the deal seem more attainable. The team is also lacking creativity and Kyrou brings that in Spades. His defensive play isn't the best nor is his commitment to two way put but if you put him with Lindy and Huberdeau they could make up for his lack in that department.

The word later in the year was also that Tarasenko wasn't going to play here.

So perhaps that becomes 1st + 1st (Tarasenko's return) + Scandella (who is 33 years old and played a whopping 20 games in 2022/2023).

Even had we been able to get a 1st from Tarasenko...I still take the Weegar + 1st + Huberdeau deal EASILY.

That Blues offer just wasn't good.

The Blues offer was a stink bid based on an a chance that Tkatchuk would refuse a sign and trade anywhere else.

The Panthers deal was the best one, full stop. Sure, Necas has taken a step forward this year. But last year he only put up 40 points. When a 115 point player is on the table are you gonna say no? It’s not Brad’s fault Huberdeau’s production took a big dip

Kyrou was also -38 with a 73 point season that's pretty horrific.

If Necas would still welcome a trade I wonder if something can be worked out to acquire him with Lindholm plus other assets going the other way.

Well you better hope Carolina flakes out in the playoffs for them to consider making changes.

Their issue is that Necas has been bridged. He's not going to be a UFA at the end of next year, but he will be the next worst thing - an RFA with arb rights.

The Florida offer was easily the best. What they should have done with Huberdeau and Weegar after acquiring them is entirely up for debate.

Kyrou makes $8.125m for 8 more years, this team needs to shred salary not increase it, trading our 1st in this years draft could also be an epic fail, I would rather trade Mangiapane for a 10-15 OA pick

Why would anyone offer that? Would you even sign Mangiapane to a 2x$5.8 if he was a UFA?

Mangipane doesn't get a top 10 pick. He will go in a change of scenery trade if he gets traded

Kyrou is a bonafide top line player who can really rifle the puck.

He has his warts but 8.125 isn't a an overpayment considering his age and production.

Mangiapane unfortunately is going to become redundant on this roster. Both Pelletier and Dube could take his spot on the roster and make less than him combined.

Ownership has consistently showed that they do not like rebuilds here so we might as well go for it.

To make the room I would trade Tanev to say Buffalo where he could provide that element of steadiness that thier blue line really needs.

I wouldn't consider trading our first for a 32 year old vet but I am more than open when it comes to players like Kyrou who are under 25.

Trading a 1st is absolutely not an option. I think the Flames made that pretty clear this year.

Would you consider it if we received two 2nds from Buffalo in a Tanev deal ?

No. Not to mention pretty much anyone interested would offer more if that’s all it took.
