How many CP members have you met?

Inspired by the recent passing of some of our members and the subsequent discussion I thought it would be interesting to know how many community members you’ve met in person.

Personally I’d say I’m well into the 40’s maybe even 50+?

I’ve been lucky to meet many of you through board sales, secret Santa and the odd custom project.

Overall I’d say my interactions with everybody have been pleasant.

I've met a number of members here through the live CP hockey drafts we held at Pete's Peanut Pub and later Schanks. There was one year where the Scorp wanted to join us but he was too young to be in bar and had someone meet him at the entrance to Schanks so he could hand someone his list to draft from.

There's also the welcome to Calgary party we held for Calgaryboy in 2017 when he came over from the Czech Republic to see the Flames live.

I'm guessing close to 30 and maybe into the 40's. Great bunch of people overall.

Between hockey pools, CPSW Softball, 'CzechTrek' and members who have become clients of mine. I've met a lot you guys. Quite the rogues gallery...

Hmm, I'm at about 16, I think. Liked 'em all. Kind of a neat community we have.

That's a hilarious story about TheScorpion being too young for that draft. Dude has to invite some of his friends on here to liven the place up a bit.

I met surferguy this past Christmas and he's legitimately one of the most friendly, kind people I've ever met. You don't see that very often, especially these days. I think I was on my way to something or we could have talked for hours, lol. Wife and kids were awesome, too.

I am like 90% I know who someone is in real life on here, and someone that I used to be pretty good friends with, but I don't think he knows who I am. I am not 100% though.

Anyone know what happened to Daradon? He’s one of my 4…met him at a flames game a long time ago. I see he stopped posting very suddenly a decade ago.

Other than that, I’ve met Ktrain, Ken0042, and another guy whose username on here I don’t even know. I know him in real life, I know he’s on CP, and no idea who he is on here.

But that’s it in 20 years.

This is for sure where I’m at. Some guys I’ve met from here and I kind of forget that’s where we met initially. Then there are some guys I’ve met here but knew from school or things like that. I’ve made some great friends here though, and some people I’ve hung out with a lot, done all kinds of things with. It’s a fantastic community.

I won a bet against Mr. Coffee a couple of years ago in the FOI forum and when I sent him my email addy for the etransfer, it turned out we knew each other from high school. Pretty neat.

None confirmed, though I'm sure there are posters I've met without knowing who they are. Based on various posts I believe I went to the same junior high as CaptainCrunch though he's a bit older and I'm not sure if we overlapped. Another poster who I haven't seen in a while I'm positive is a coworker of mine. I know lots of other hard-core Flames fans though so I'm sure some of them must be here.

I think I had a meet up planned at a Panthers game once, and the guy saw me and recognized me, but was too scared to say hi because I was "intimidating".

I have to laugh because I'm probably one of the biggest softies you'd ever meet, but I'm a large man with a beard sooooo......

Still haven't met any CPers in person.

However, I did champion the idea to get Calgaryboy over to Canada to watch Jagr play for the Flames. Aeneas was the host, so kudos to him, but I felt like I contributed remotely in a weird way.

That's all I got.

Edit: nevermind, I know one guy who was my best friend in high school, but he isn't on here very often. Lives in Sasky now.
