My guess is Edwards is here for one last stab to convince Treliving to stay. And if they can't get a deal done then it gets announced tomorrow or Sunday.

I think depending on what the players said behind the scenes today too then that could determine their fate...wonder if Murray actually met directly with the players.
Could you imagine working for Edwards and then getting the news that he is on a plane from Switzerland to come and talk to you? I'd just quit right there and go into the witness relocation program.

Who's the best coach and/or GM without a job right now?

Coach would probably be Laviolette, but those may be rose tinted glasses from a few years ago. Dallas Eakins would be worthy of drinking a tall glass of bleach.

Potentially Dubas if he’s canned for another first round exit. I don’t get the hate for him, I think he’s done well in Toronto. Other than that no one else. Would rather Conroy learn the GM ropes from Maloney or something.

Coaching is Laviolette and BB.

The players would be praying for Sutter to come back if Laviolette came in.

Yeah Eakins is a coach you use while tanking and then replace when its time to get serious.

Well the best coach is on the black list (Quenville). Probably not an option for a socially forward organization like CGY.

Honestly, I don't think we need to look outside of org for a new coach, he's down in the AHL leading that team on a run.

Give him the reins, give him 1 hire of his own and find a good vet coach to be his assistant/mentor.

This guy must not enjoy being employed in his current job.

Hey everybody, there is a very private/high security event being planned related to the Flames!!

Has Edwards ever spoken to the media before? I’ve seen pictures of the guy, but I’ve never heard him speak

Pretty sure he was joking around and it was just the exit interviews, as evidenced by his later tweet:

The only time I can recall is when he was helping the NHL negotiate the CBA with the NHLPA.

Interesting, Lindholm and Huberdeau didn't seem to connect after all the talk when Huberdeau arrived. Then there was the Sutter comment that Lindholm was missing Johnny. Maybe there was some friction and moreso because there was no core or leader that the players could get behind.

Wonder where Markstrom stands in all this as he is a fellow Swed

Goodbye to Lindholm, very pedestrian this season for sure. Sulking about his linemates, whatever he wasn't ever really a huge gamebreaker or have much of a personality it seems. He also had a child.

Backlund, if he wanted out, meh.

It's not all Sutter. These guys saw other guys get paid.
Guys like Lucic are gone some dressing room dynamic is totally different and some guys don't want another change in our room.

Huberdeau and Markstrom taking fully responsibility and not speaking in cliches only is good.

Move on from the players who can't handle this situation, there are enough players on this team that can, want to be here, and have something to prove. Guys like Toffolli and Zadorov as well have benefitted this year.

Team effort was there and this team deserved a better fate, but
we are in the playoffs next year no matter what.

The funny thing will be these guys claiming they want to win the prize signing for the money they deem acceptable with teams that have even less of a chance of competing any time soon.

Just tell it like it is and say it's climate, arena and pressure.

This ownership has always tried to make a run. And actual contenders won't be able to afford you at the price tag you seek.

Are we tanking. Then if we can find a good GM, for I don't mind rookie coach. May be Love as coach and Iginla and Stajan as assistant coach?

You think this team is making the playoffs next year without Lindy & Backs?
