Why would Richards ever come into any game ever other than one where you're already down big? The man is and has always been the human white flag. He serves a purpose, I get why he's on the team (aforementioned blow outs) but why would anyone ever use him in any other situation?!

Richards’ time as a Jay is coming to an end very soon. Mitch White, come on down. The only chance for him would be if Berrios needed some time on the DL from the ball to the knee.

White is a long man/spot starter. He can eat up innings that Richards really can’t. A game like tonight is exactly the situation that White would work in.
Richards isn’t a long man. He can’t go 3-4 innings. With Berrios and Kikuchi in the rotation, that is a very valuable asset. And if Berrios is hurt, you can have him start…not ideal though.
