Backlund is probably unreplaceable. Has a player ever got worse when playing with him? Normally he's been the reason the Colbornes and Boumas of the world get paid more than they ever could have without him. Every year his line seems to be our most consistent, and the perfect place to put a rookie to help them succeed. I remember when analytics started first hitting the scene, Backlund was always considered one of the best play drivers in the league. I have a hard time seeing this team competitive without him as well.

Good riddance to Lindholm. He was always overrated in here. People complain about how the dweeb and chucky cheese never brought it in the playoffs... Lindholm was worse than both of them.

Everyone said Lindy always made Chucky and Johnny look better and did the heavy lifting.
Tkachuk was the best player on that line, and got the least credit for it.

I am starting to get 1990's anxiety the way good players are wanting leave. Hopefully the club doesn't need to go through another dark ages.

Yep. Pretty much everyone he played with saw a noticeable uptick in play. Hubderdeau’s overall game improved vastly playing with #11. Backs fixed Mangiapane’s game as well after that rough first half. He and Lindholm are spectacular on the PK together.
I think a lot of teams will be knocking on the door to acquire Backlund and Lindholm. I could see teams offering up an absolute bounty for both these guys at 50% retention and/or extended.

Is it just me or was the media trying to create an issue between Huberdeau and Sutter that isn't even there?

You can see a direct connection to those questions from one inexperienced journalist. Salim Valji, he’s trying to farm drama because he’s on the outside and wished to be on the inside.
I could go even deeper and suggest that media relations has suggested tsn replace him but I won’t… but did I?

I always thought Lindholm strengths were his terrific positioning in all 3 zones, as well as his checking game, competitiveness and down low in the defensive zone. But outside of his shot, I don’t think anything else about his offensive game really stood out.
He does a lot of things well, but in terms of god given skill/talent/instincts, Gaudreau and Tkachuk are well ahead of Lindholm and that’s harder to find, making those 2 more valuable IMO.
They Matrix’d the opposition on a regular basis and the team missed those easy goals this season especially against the bad teams. Gaudreau and Tkachuk destroyed bad teams last season and I think that’s a big reason why the team this year struggled to replicate that same success.
Sometimes, just for the sake of your physical and mental wellbeing, you just need your stars to have a big game where you easily cruise to victory as opposed to fighting tooth and nail for victories every night against every single opponent.

You need to know, I’m joking.
I trust your insight
And
I respect you need a few hours to get to your information
I’m just making a bad joke about my previous comments about my displeasure with how Francis constantly says “I got something good, not gonna tell you now”

I am going to just take a wild guess. Treliving decided to leave, and Conroy will be interim GM and a candidate to be the next actual GM, but the team is going to consider other options as well.
