You see the puck hop over Dubes stick, Huberdeau shoot it at the crest 3 times, Lindholm soft shots from perimeter, etc.? How about Duehr? Yeah he was a bust.

You think Lewis, Lucic, Ritchie, Coleman, Dube, Mangiapane are “so much better” than our best AHL players? You give Coronato, Pelletier, Zary, Phillips the kind of icetime any of these other guys had this year and they’ll have about the same production.

I think the game is way younger, due to the salary cap, and I think that the delta between the NHL and AHL has narrowed significantly than what it used to be. I think your opinion is one that is dated, and wrong. Tell me when you watch these guys you don’t think they can keep up or make plays.

It’s icetime, opportunity, and having a coach give you a chance. And honestly to a degree, luck.

Love how some are saying this game doesn't mean anything and isn't a indicator of anything.

Then when some of the same players are doing something in a nothing game against a team that cares about it less than the Flames, it's Sutter's fault for not having these lines or players in the roster earlier.

Zary between Pelts and Bison should be a thing.

Coleman, Mangiapane, Dube are much better

I will give you Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie although different roles

I think Sutter was responsible for global warming and Covid.

Noooo. I want the Flames to lose. Better draft odds. Happy for the kids to play but let's get another thoroughbred.

If you really think Lewis and Lucic and Coleman are in the lineup for point production, not sure what to tell you.

Lewis is a solid PK player and works his butt off for puck retrieval.
Coleman arguably the most consistent player last playoffs. Lucic is the heavyweight champion of the league and plays a responsible game still...totally different roles then any of the 4 players you listed as "better"...

They had Chris Sutter disguised as an usher for the Usher Dance Cam and when he turned around it was literally the best thing that has happened at the Saddledome all season.

Yeah this is the biggest game of the young guys lives vs. vets trying to avoid injury

Good in them but let's not get carried away

That is pretty much it though. The Flames needed their best players to be the best players and they weren't. To make a major difference in the playoff hunt you'd have to be banking on Wolf to outperform Markstrom and Vladar and the rookie forwards to out produce the NHL players they are replacing over an extended period. Pelletier had 7 points in 23 games.
