Story of the season.
Quite frankly amazing Flames are still in the playoff race at this point. They should be more so a bottom 10 team with the quality of goaltending they've gotten.

We tried nothing to fix this and are all out of ideas. Its not like Markstrom was any good this year before this stretch. The aversion to do anything (whether coaching or management) to use any young guys in any real role beyond a short spell is a real problem. They may have all ended up not helping, but just watching the same problems continually arise and doing nothing at all about them is painful.

My level of excited will be determined by how things are going in the Jets game. I know the Jets need to lose any 2 games, I would just prefer that the SJ game be one of them.

Oooofffffff. Season in a nutshell right there. Can't believe that's what 6 million dollars a year looks like.

I mean in a differential it's a goal per game in goaltending value.

Good thing we didn’t try the AHL all-star goalie all season.

If they give the 6 million dollar man a chance to earn his money and find his game while sticking to the development plan for Wolf then I'm not really complaining. Markstrom bounced back for a bit and found his game but it was too little too late.

Goaltending is more about confidence than any other position in hockey. I think it was the right call long term to put Wolf's development above all else.

I'd have more faith in a sharks win if Reimer was playing. He was a wall against them last meeting.
Hoping for a miracle

Then you look at Boston who has an amazing team firing on all cylinders, PLUS both their goalies are playing unreal.
Ullmark 1.89, Swayman 2.22
Ullmark .938, Swayman .921
Not only that, but Ullmark got bored of dominating the rest of the league at goalieing, so he decided to score a goal too.

Please dress our potential second line of future.
Pelletier-Rucizka-Coronato
They should bring lots of excitement.

Exciting as that would be you have 3, essentially green, rookies on the same line. That's a setup for failure and really wouldn't do anything for those players.

Yeah it was a real detriment for Cale Makar to come right out of college into a playoff series with the best team in the West.

You honestly don't see a difference between Cale Makar and those 3?

Scoring Winger

Yes goal tending has sucked but our defence and man in man coverage sucked collectively. The amount of odd man rushes is brutal or collapse indefence One brutal with 1on 1 coverage

If people knew how good Makar was going to be, he would have been drafted higher. Don't act like it was a sure thing.
Coronato is a 13th overall. He's very likely going to become an everyday NHLer. People act like it would be harmful to him to put him into important games down the stretch.

Why not, let the future taste pressure of important game. Who knows. May be they will shine. This will tell them that they are the teams future.
Anyway, I don't expect good result from this current players. No need dress Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie who doesn't have future with this team.
I guess it's playoff income on the line so Sutter can't dress youngsters and receive the blame if the team is out tonight.

Lol, thumb our nose at the idea of 2 rookies playing a meaningful game, at peace with Ritchie & Lucic doing the same.

Makar won the Hobby Baker totally dominated in College in 2018-19. That is like saying no one knew that Gaudreau was going to be good.
