Was a fun game to watch. Scenario still the same as before the game. If they beat nashville I could see it happening. The Jets have some very tough road games.

Agreed.
No issue from me on the Flames last night, they were solid last night after a pedestrian start.
Demko was great.
I'm just glad I didn't have to write a dozen game stories when the season was over.
Two to go ... unlikely but hoping they still matter.

Not much excuse for such a pedestrian start. It’s like they don’t realize they are in must win area.

Canucks came out pretty strong on home ice.
They've won a lot of games lately.
I think a lot of fans think their team is full control of game on the ice. Two teams will always battle for momentum. Home team had it to start to some degree.

If Lindholm was a true sniper I feel like he would have had 55 goals last year with all the great looks he had. He scored 42, but had a lot of great chances snuffed out. You have be be a good smart player to get those looks. But if you are going to be paid 8 million....you need to be able to convert 35 of those into goals.

Tough loss but I'm sure it wasn't easy to dig themselves out of the hole to force OT. Canucks have been playing well with the new coach bump.

On the momentum side, it was tough to watch the Flames after tying it. They had all of the momentum and then let up. Seemed like they went back to trusting the process, like they have so many times before, with the same outcome
OT was quite entertaining, even though it didn’t work out in their favour

OT was fun, though nerve wracking. The SO is so random. Huberdeau missed by an inch or so. Kadri, for all my complaining about him only missed his shot by a little as well. He had some room above that pad. Though if you are going to shoot, you have to give the goalie some reason to freeze. Markstrom was great on 2 of 3 and the one he let in was a borderline illegal SO goal. You could tell he was about to complain.

Borderline illegal? What would he complain about. Turns out poke check wasn’t the right play

I feel like maybe some rose colored viewing of the SO going on.
The Vancouver goal wasn’t an illegal move, it was a beautiful play. Full credit.
Was Huberdeau close to scoring? Hits the middle of Demko’s pad. A few inches from the five hole maybe, but that accounts for every pad save there is.
Don’t love it when a shooter makes an attempt from as far out as Tofffoli did. Great SO players don’t seem to do that.
Regardless the shootout has gone well past the best before date and the electrifying OT last night just proved it IMO.

"With two games left, if the Flames win both and gain four points the jets will only need to find two points in their final three games to clinch a spot."
The Jets would need to find 3 pts. 91+3 to the Flames 90+4

He was close to moving the puck backwards. That’s all. I doubt it was illegal, but IIRC the puck has to be going roughly towards the net at all times.

Correct should have said the Flames would need the Jets to only earn two points in their final three.
