I don't see the Flames holding up their end, but then again i've been wrong before.

Don't take any game for granted. Which you could add on to the list of problems with this team; not being able to beat the lottery quality teams consistently.
Well yeah but same with the Jets... somebody has to make it

Flames will dominate the Preds and then get trounced by the Sharks then miss by one point. Then the Preds will win one of the lotteries and move up from 14th to 4th. It’s the way.

All I know is that I hope ownership is taking a hard look at this roster, the cap situation and the UFA’s expiring. Because things can get really ugly for this franchise if they aren’t smart

I know math-wise just getting one point vs two isn't actually that big of a deal, but still, that stings. Should have easily had that one

It would be dumb to overreact imo
Some tweaks are definitely needed though to address the overall chemistry issues.

We need combos that can form reliable lines long term.

Could be solved with youth, or maybe a hockey trade to get a couple different looks in the top 9.

I do think those guys will be better. I think they were being entitled divas but then down the stretch finally stopped bitching and committed. I think they'll come back with a better attitude to start next season even if D is here.

If a miracle happens and the Jets do lose to the Sharks, then it definitely balances out the chances for the Flames. At that point Flames are looking for Jets to lose just once more in two games against top quality West teams; one of them being repeat Western Conference champs favourites.

If your goal is to eek in as a mediocre team...then yes the rhythm of the last 6 years would suggest some minor tweaks and you can probably get in.

If the goal is to win a cup...tear it to the ground and do it properly...we already wasted a year chasing a false hope that was gone by Christmas...

^To be fair, The Sharks are to the Jets is kinda what Chicago has been to Calgary this year. And the Jets are pretty meh on the road

Flames will lose the next 2 in OT, and tie the record for most OT losses. The jets will lose all their games, and the Preds will just stay behind.

Teach them how to win in regulation or practice shootouts more. 2 times hubby goes to backhand can't elevate the puck. Ffs season game is on your stick top paid player

I won't get excited unless the Sharks pull it off and the flames manage a win of any kind.

1-1 is highly probable on their final road trip imo. That's stiff competition in difficult barns.

There really haven't been that many games this year that they've been absolute no-shows.

Nov. 3 L 1-4 vs. Nashville
Jan. 26 L 1-5 vs. Chicago
Feb. 25 L 1-4 at Colorado
Mar. 20 L 2-8 at Los Angeles

Games like tonight aren't why they are in trouble.

The one point is huge in that we don’t require the Sharks to win against the Jets.

Thought the sharks torched them last time.

5 combined games that matter left, we need results in 4 of them.

We play two teams at home that we are better then. The Jets play two teams on the road that are better than them.

Obviously a long shot at this point, and are relying on teams that may not 100% care for those games, but if the games end up in regulation “like they should”, we make the playoffs.

Decent goaltending and they would have over 100 points...and a bunch of teams would have less. Just decent not even great. Look at their record since Markstrom went from terrible to okay.

Add in great seasons from Duehr, Pelts, Coronato, maybe another try with Phillips. Still plenty to look forward to.
