It's not even a "he". It's two people, I believe. Maybe a couple? They're cagey about it, which also points to them being an unethical disingenuous bowl stain on local social media.

I met the male half once years ago and at that time he was working at Shaw, one of his responsibilities being to screen the porn movies to ensure everything in them was legal.

I never paid attention to CrackMacs as I really hate him/her/them but I think it was at some point just before the pandemic, maybe the summer of 2019, when they tried a rebranding campaign to disassociate from their origin and they got lambasted by Twitter/Reddit users. It was funny stuff.

Why does not knowing if it is 1 or 2 or 6 people make them cagey and a bowl stain?

The fall of crackmacs was a glorious thing. Acted like they were the kings of Calgary social media. Almost as fun as seeing Snowcat87 finally get charged by the police for his antics

Because I believe there's a gentleman's agreement that we're at least a bit authentic online in spaces like this.
I've met a lot of people off this site, and their real-life self is basically consistent with their online self. I just haven't encountered some liars or fakers. I believe if you and I met, we'd get along as we kind of already know each other and we get along on here.
Imagine, though, if you were like, 'hey jambox bro' and I was like, WTF is that?' And you'd be like, 'that's our thing...remember?' And I was like, 'oh that was probably my wife...sometimes she's Sliver.' Wouldn't you kind of feel like now you didn't really know me and who you thought you were talking to wasn't actually me? Wouldn't that diminish our relationship some?
And with CrackMacs, it became obvious they were just self-promoting so it made their posts even less genuine. I went through their post history and they were marketing themselves to somebody they were trying to get something from by citing all their followers in the Calgary area and how they wanted to partner and stuff. So when you are talking to CrackMacs, 1. Who are you talking to between the two or more users, and 2. Are you having a sincere interaction or is there a marketing angle and you are being targeted? 3. Since they moderate communities, are they moderating with their personal and professional goals in mind, or are they moderating with the best interests of the community in mind?
So maybe they're not a bowl stain, but they're definitely at least a bowl splash.
And there are ethical ways to merge your personal and professional personas. I like the way CalgaryPuck does it. I know Justin from Gem by Carati...he's a rad dude but it's not like he's in the threads in the regular forums marketing to us. He keeps it to his sub-forum. Same when Travis and Slava had one. Same with the Chrysler guy now.
The bowl splash duo, though? They just don't conduct themselves like ethical people IMO. I have no respect for them.

To be fair, about 90% of the internet is self promotion, sponsored content, or affiliate marketing.

9 times out of 10, it's him. Wifey posts here and there, but right now, it's typically just to bellyache about tax time and working X amount of days straight. She will usually indicate that it's her as opposed to him, when she's posting as CM. It's almost always him posting, she kind of stepped back from it over a year ago, can't recall why. And that is about as much as I know about them.
I follow them on twitter, mostly just for a couple of Calgary things that they post here and there, but for the most part, I scroll past.

Precisely when corporations took over and turned a beautiful thing into a commercialized thing. Small business can't even get a message or advert through because the sharks make it that way.
