I guess I should be cheering Go Flames Go, but after last night's dismal showing, I'm rather hope deprived.
What I'd like to see, win or lose: Kadri stapled to the popcorn-eating seat in the press box. One or more of the kids in. Don't care which goalie. Both have been atrocious. A stop on the first WPG shot on net.
Doesn't seem like much. Not expecting any of the above, either.

Flames responded well the last time after losing to the Hawks at home. They flew into Seattle the next night and won 5-2. Seattle was rested and coming off a 6-1 drubbing of the Canucks so not that different than the situation tonight.
Flames win in regulation and run the table the jets can only win 2 of their last 4 and must lose 1 in regulation for Calgary to make it. A win would tonight for Calgary and the odds are still long.

Flames will likely win tonight, then lose to Vancouver or Nashville.
WPG, Van, Nash is a difficult 3 games for this team and there's no way they win all 3.
That's why they needed last night and could still have had a game to give between Van/Nas.
The fat lady sang last night; we needed to be tied in points coming into tonight.

The added jokes are just the je ne sais quoi that these last few game threads needed. Well done Cheese.

If Kadri makes $7 million, Cheese deserves at least 10.

I guess it's not over till it's over. A win in regulation is the only acceptable result.

As lame as the Flames have been this year, so have the Jets. Both teams have gone far below expectations and have pissed off their fanbases. Win tonight and there's still a chance, we don't control destiny anymore but win out the final 4 and maybe just maybe the Jets have an underwhelming finish to their season.
I look at it this way, had we won yesterday but lost tonight that kinda sucks more. Start from the 2-1 win over LA, they probably have to lose one game before season end. If it had to be yesterday then win the last 4.

Find a way today and we only need min, col, nsh, sj to take 3 points off of them, which seems not unrealistic.

Gonna get creamed tonight. Jets pulled up their socks, at home and rested they'll show us what desperation play on a must win is.

sure
it isn't over
but
hopes are very slim at this point
it will be a matter of effort from here on in
and after last night, that realization puts my slim hopes on a diet

Scoring Winger

I think you guys are too negative, they were bound to lose again - they were not going into playoffs with a 9 game win streak. That loss is practically all on Kadri for the brutal turnovers at the worst times. They just need to win the next 4 and Jets need to lose 1 in regulation and 1 in OT in the next 4 after the Flames game, pretty realistic.

Lol Calgary really #### the bed last night
Looking forward to this one though, and the subsequent Wpg Chief tweets to follow! should be a great game. hopefully the uptick in goal-scoring continues for the Jets

Just watched those highlights from yesterday.. wow.
I hope Kadri is in another pizza delivering mood tonight.

At the beginning of the schedule if one said that the Jets were going to be a couple of wins away from a playoff spot at this point of the season, everyone would happily say “no way!” At the beginning of the schedule if one said that the Flames were going to be a couple of losses away from being out of a playoff spot at this point of the season, everyone would say “no way!” A ways to go yet, but a Jets win tonight would certainly shorten the road.

Calgary, led by their resident anthracite-chewing giggling moped-riding Australopith (Kadri) played poorly last night, and there's not much to provide evidence for any bollocks-shaking intestines-churning ego-inflating turnaround for this evening's tilt.

Biggest game of the year, and all I can help is the team is riding with the same energy and effort as they have last few games. I sent my kids to school in Jet's gear, and my house lights are blue today (From our friend? White Out 403)

The Flames are simultaneously disappointed, pissed and angry at themselves for yesterday's loss. Even with the B2B, they will be angry, energized and buzzing tonight. We will need to bring our A game if we want to seal the deal here tonight.

Flames are fragile. Score early and we can put them away

It seems to flip flop between Nashville and Calgary as to who is the threat.
Given that Calgary has a soft schedule and Nashville has a brutal schedule, I still think Calgary is the chief threat (and playoff % estimates agree with that).

Jets still control their destiny even with a loss. In fact the Jets can lose to Calgary and Colorado and still get in by winning the other 3 not matter what Calgary and Nashville do
Important game Yes
Must win No

This is the big one, folks.
Flames at Jets. The stakes are high. Jets will be well rested, while Calgary is playing back-to-back games.
I hate the Flames with a passion, and I am in Edmonton, so there are fellow Flames haters to join in our hatred of that horrible franchise 3 hours south.

I actually fear Nashville more than Calgary, the way they ahve been defeating some of the top NHL teams as of late.
If the Jets do miss the playoffs, I hope that it is Nashville that gets the final playoff spot. The Preds are a class organization. Playing the "Top Gun" theme after the Jets won Game 7 back in 2018.
Calgary are a bunch of dirty cheap shot artists, who knocked Hawerchuk out of the playoffs in 85, and Scheifele out in 2020. I also can't stand their fan-base.

I agree. Don't think 9 games straight was a realistic expectation, even if it seems unacceptable on the surface for it to be against the hawks
Many in their predictions were accounting for 1 loss not against Winnipeg
If they were looking past last night then bring an A+ effort today in the game you were focused on
Find a way, and go from there
Wpg loses to a motivated Nashville team then suddenly you need Colorado and Minnesota to just take 1 point from them

Yeah this is critical mass. Will have to see how the team responds. If it's a good effort maybe you don't need to revamp too much for next year. If they got curbstomped than it could be another crazy Summer.
