I remember reading threads where people were saying that this a good thing to take if you feel like your getting sick. Can't really find it in the Off Topic forum....
Do these things really work in getting over cold/flu?
Thought who better to turn to then CPers....

The idea is you take them as soon as you feel a cold coming on. It seems to work (for me at least), as long as you catch it before you have the cold full on. Could be a placebo for all I know but as long as it works who cares.

it DOES work. the only problem, its a little on the expensive side (for a one time purchase ~$30)
but if you consider misery, and lost time at work, etc. its probably worth it.

I stand behind it totally. I've had it stop incoming colds. But more importantly; my immune system luckily is one that is pretty good, my girlfriends' on the other hand...it killed a couple with her too before they developed. A shining endorsement!

never used it, don't plan to, have no idea whether it works brilliantly or not at all. For you folks looking for a miracle cold cure, though, try plain old-fashioned WATER. Honestly. Staying hydrated does wonders for not only fighting the problem and speeding up recovery time, but preventing it in the first place

If you buy the bottle instead of the blister pack it lowers the price per capsule by a considerable amount. The down side is that a bottle is expensive.

Bottle is like 27.99 at Shoppers Drug mart for about 60 capsules.
I've found it does work as well (most of the time), and yah right before you feel the cold hit. Take a bunch.
I'm pretty sure most of us CPers decided to try it after that shameless promotion on 23... it actually made me want to go out and buy cold FX!

You've never had a cold? I think the usual symptoms are: Runny nose, feeling drained, stuffy nose, stuff like that.

Well wouldn't that mean that you already had the cold?

For me I get a little trickle in the back of my throat. Not a sore throat or cought - just a little tickle that means one's coming. That's when I start loading up on the Cold FX.

NE Costco had them today, $50 for about 150 pills.
Hard to say whether these actually work or not. I used the blister pack of these when I came down with a monster flu earlier this year but then again I would have ingested KY jelly at that point if someone had told me it would have cured me - it was that bad. Was over it in 5 days time as a measure for you.
I'll feel like a grade A sucker if it's ever proved these don't work.

I finally bought some after hearing all these miracle stories....first day, same as usual with symptoms coming on strong. Next day, still felt a bit under the weather, so I complained they wERN'T working. Next day, felt great.

They work.
If you take them at the first on-set you can usually get rid of the cold completely.
If you are past that point take them anyway and you will only have the cold for half the days you would normally have it for.
This isn't a placebo, it works.

My face is a bum!

These puppies just saved my new years snowboarding trip. Felt like crap the day we were leaving, and I was fine the next day. I'm awefully skeptical about this sort of thing, but there was no denying I felt a huge improvement after taking them.

On them right now, after a crazy week back home of drinking I was beginning to come down with something.
This time the FX have not beat the cold down, but the symptoms are very diluted. Should be better tomorrow, without ever really feeling like I had a cold. It is good stuff.
Oh, and water is key as well!
