Like the Ducks are? Your last sentence made zero sense at all. I guess the entire BJ's roster must be injured from all those losses. What a bizarre take.

They don’t care enough about the pick to tank because they know that in the majority of cases the team can trade them at any time.
Teams can ice a poor roster and hire bad coaches to tank but the players are always playing for their next contract.

Speed, decent offensive instinct, and a pretty decent shot.
Reminds me a lot of Duclair without the hands/finishing ability.

This is what happens when you fill your roster with grinders like Duehr, Lewis, Coleman, Dube, etc. All the talk about goaltending but to me it's the lack of legitimate scoring chances
|
Dube and Coleman might both hit 20 goals - pretty good for grinders. Their goals aren’t pretty, sure, but they count.
And I’m not sure they aren’t being told to shoot.

If you don’t play hard you get injured a fair bit. That’s pretty common knowledge.

Bad time to be calling them idiots.

Again, history says you are wrong. But ya, teams don't tank and players would rather win meaningless hockey games then up their draft position to try for a generational player. Again, history says you are wrong.

I think you need to realize the dumb post was yours. You've had about 10 people in this thread now tell you reasons why players wouldn't tank but you call his post dumb?
You really think players would play terrible on purpose lowering their own stock value. Then a generational player comes onto the roster takes one of those players roster spots. Then you have free agents who want to sign to come player with this generational talent and guess whose roster spots they're taking? Probably the ones who played poorly on purpose in your scenario. Makes no logical sense at all.

Was going to say - with Lindholm in the middle, or maybe Backlund, they could do well. he could be Huberdeau’s Bennett (non centre version)

20 games...I could score 2 goals by accident and I can't skate anymore.
Team worst -17. Milan Lucic is -11. The next closest player is a -7. He was supposed to be defensively responsible right?
He's 100% checked out of this team. Doesn't care, doesn't battle through anything, just whines to the ref when things don't go his way.
So just to summarize: isn't producing offensively, isn't playing good defense, isn't leading the team or showing good character.
I'm really starting to dislike him.
|
That was the concern, as he has already won a cup. Furthermore, he is in Calgary only for the reason were willing to pay more. Many teams already decided on their roster. He likely had as many options as Johnny G when he picked Columbus. If he had his way, he would be with Denver still or the Islanders.

My universe is the same as everyone else’s. Based on the reactions, your opinion is the outlier here.
I’m not making it up - if players half ass it, they make themselves vulnerable.
Players don’t think much about getting a high draft pick. They like wins.

No, it's your take that is bizarre.
About a dozen posters have explained to you that players don't play to lose. But you just went ahead and tripled down on your terrible take anyway.

Except it has literally happened. ESPN literally did a special on it with the Penguins. The players even admitted it. So you can call my posts dumb all you want but I am right, you are wrong. Who is lowering their value on a young rebuilding team? Who is looking for that big payday on the Ducks? Let's see how the Ducks play in the 3rd. I am sure there will be plenty of excuses why it was everything but the players laying off to lose.

Not really though as they have been extremely bad all year when facing other teams on a back to back. That’s the sad reality.

We are a middle of the road team and it shows.
We can beat good teams if everyone is playing well, but we consistently lose to "bad" teams because we don't have the scoring ability to overcome a breakdown or two.
I think we can still make the playoffs, and of course once you in anything can happen, but I'm not expecting much.
