I am still a little behind, but that's the value of defense: Chapman makes that paly and Gausman is clean through 3 on 39 pitches. But now he's down 3.
I thought the squibbler was the same problem they were talking about in the pre-game though - CHapman was well off the line, but Gausman threw junk on the outside corner to the leftie, which he pushed down the line to score 2. If Chapman isn't off the line, those 2nd and 3rd runs don't score.

I wonder what everyone expects from Brandon Belt this year? Solid career as a hitter, but coming off a down year due to injury and fresh off a knee surgery.
Today he looked awful in his first couple of at bats, but that last one showed his ability to foul off pitches and have a bit of a selective eye.
How many games? Hitting stats? Style of play?

I do like Buck but he’s really fallen behind on the modern game. He quoted a guy who last pitched 37 years ago to talk about how velocity isn’t that important in the game.
Yes, as a gadget player, Cimber is effective but he’s certainly not someone you want to build around.

I think Belt is going to have a good season but he’s a bit behind in his preparation due to surgery. We might need to be patient with him for a few weeks.
