What was this, the first time in four or five games the Flames got more calls? Yes, the Pettersson one was a blown call, but how many of those have gone against Calgary this year? It's evening out.
I hope the Flames make the playoffs and I hope it's against Los Angeles just so I can go to the games. But part of me wants to see the Kings play Edmonton after all that Oiler fans have said about that team, and wipe the smirks off their faces for about 4 months until they predictably start planning the 2024 Stanley Cup parade.

Pretty certain you are incorrect on that. A player is still responsible for their stick regardless of what the other player does in contributing to the infraction.

I think we need to start adding Winnipeg fans to the ATL report.
Spoiler!

Well the Canucks were no help tonight, 6 games left and the Flames are 2 points back. Predators 5 back with 2 games in hand
Quote:
that blows, f***ing linesmen has to get involved. at least it wasn't a regulation win I guess
Quote:
Ugh.. Calgary wins because of a clown high sticking call by the linesman.
Quote:
Let's hope the first period jets show up on Sunday...
Quote:
Canucks got hosed on an awful penalty call late in the third and Calgary scores a PP goal. Just brutal.
Quote:
They were outplayed for most of the game but that BS call by the linesman sank them. Calgary player lifted the Canucks players stick into his face.
Quote:
Bettman trying to help. They're going to get killed with their hefty contracts for years. They should just move to Quebec already. No new arena in site.
Quote:
lol sure. Calgary deserved that game. Easily outplayed the Canucks.

Flames have the easiest schedule down the stretch in the NHL. The Jets have to beat the Flames at home. We have to go 4-2, or else I think we are done.
Quote:
if we go 4-2 flames have to go 5-0-1
Quote:
Calgary’s schedule is a cake walk for the rest of the season. They should win all except one or two. Meanwhile, the Jets have games against New Jersey, the Preds and the Avs. Their “easy” games are against Calgary, Nashville and the Jet-killer Sharks. Ugh.
Quote:
Winnipeg's schedule is tougher, but there is no excuse for them not to get at least a point if not a win against New Jersey on Sunday and a win against Calgary next week. Both teams will have played the night before they play the Jets, while Winnipeg players will be fresh from at least a full day's rest. There's a good chance the Colorado match won't mean a thing...possibly the same with the Minnesota match.
Anyways, it's Winnipeg's own fault for allowing Calgary to be as close as they are in the standings with their awful loss to San Jose.
Quote:
We have to defeat the Flames in regulation, and hope a weaker team defeats them.
Theoretically, the Flames should beat Anaheim, Chicago, and San Jose.
The big two games are against Winnipeg and Nashville.
Quote:
The chances of the Flames winning every game down the stretch is not good. Look at how much trouble they had with a bad Canucks team. They were losing for over 57 minutes. The Flames have actually lost more games than they won; 34 wins to 41 losses (15 of those in OT).
Even the Bruins (who may set a record for most wins in a season), have lost to non-playoff teams this year. Having said that, I believe the Flames will go 4-2 (or 4-1-1) down the stretch. The Jets just have to hope to stay ahead of them. I still think that the home game vs the Flames will go a long way to determining what the playoff picture will look like.
We can technically catch a break on our last game, if Colorado has nothing to play for. Most teams in that case rest their starters.

High Sticking is the action where a player carries the stick above the normal height of the opponent's shoulders and makes contact with the opponent. A player must be accountable for being in control of their stick at all times. (a) A minor penalty shall be assessed for high sticking an opponent.

Nice comeback win. Always feels good to beat the Canucks in their barn.
Not as sound fundamentally as the LA game, but seeing signs of confidence and joy from the Flames that we haven’t seen most of the season. Seeing them loose and smiling, joking around on the bench before OT was a good sign.

Can't wait for their team move back to Atlanta! Stupid Pegger!
Was at the game with my 7 year old who probably went crazier than me when that winner went in. We were 8th row in the corner and had a great view.
Have no voice left. Worth it.
Saw the big win in Seattle at end of January and now tonight. I may need to cancel plans for next Saturday and find my way back to Rogers Arena a week from now.
Not dead yet.
